Meet me in readiness for BlogonToys

This weekend I’m off to another blogging conference. I say another, but I’ve not been to one for a while. But it’s BlogonToys in Manchester, so it’s a great chance to socialise, speak to brands, and maybe find my way into some of the blogging sessions. Oh, and be treated staying in a hotel!

I’ve decided (last minute I know) to join in the BlogonToys introduction linky. So hopefully other people will recognise me, even if I don’t always recognise them.

Here’s my introduction answers.

What is the best thing about blogging?

So many things. I could say the friends I’ve made, and the breadth of skills I’ve learnt. The achievement from building my blog from nothing. But I think it’s just having a voice. It doesn’t matter if noone reads my blog as I didn’t realise anyone would in the beginning. But I love being able to write what I want, when I want.

What was your dream job when you were growing up?

First I wanted to be a ballerina, then a musician in an orchestra, then a vet, then solicitor. But I don’t know that when it came to it I ever really had a dream job. When I left uni I didn’t really know what I wanted to do although fell into market research and data analysis which I really enjoyed. When you grow up there’s so many jobs you never know about until you’re older. For instance, I’d love to have been a lexicographer and studied words.  Or to be an anthropologist watching people’s behaviour (inspired by the book [amazon_textlink asin=’1444785206′ text=’Watching the English’ template=’ProductLink’ store=’bubbaandme-21′ marketplace=’UK’ link_id=’5bbcbba0-b6c8-11e8-9549-8f9c00aefc31′]).

What is your lucky number?

4 – no reason really

What is your favourite season?

Autumn – for the colours, cooler weather, my birthday. I do like Spring as well.

If you had to choose one what would your favourite dish from the Chinese be?

Lemon chicken with egg fried rice.

What is your useless talent?

I’m not sure I have one. I can say the alphabet backwards

If you could keep any animal as a pet what would you choose?

I think I’m too lazy to look after a pet, but a perfectly trained, self cleaning puppy would be fab.

Which one meal would you eat forever? (If you had to choose one!)

Lasagne with salad and garlic bread. A for pudding trifle

What is the last thing you check before you lock your front door?

That I’ve got everything with me

If you won 50,000 pounds what would be the first thing you would buy?

Passports and a holiday. Then get the pointing done on our house, a deep clean, new carpets, whole place decorated, a new kitchen and a summer house.

What is your favourite social media channel?

Instagram for pretty pictures, twitter for chat

Tell us more about your best ever holiday

Probably the 3 weeks we spent in New Zealand, although my trip to New York would come pretty close.

Name one cake you rock at baking

Brownies

Which session are you most looking forward to?

I’m hoping the GoPro one will actually get me properly using mine instead of just relying on my phone camera

What is your favourite book ever?

The Shadow of the Wind, although I still have a soft spot for The Ice Mountain, my favourite book from my childhood.

Which special event is your favourite? (Halloween, Christmas etc)

Christmas, although it’s a working day on the farm, so the actual day is always an anticlimax.

If the internet vanished right now how would you share your message or life story without a blog?

I probably wouldn’t.

If you want to find out more about bloggers going to BlogonToys, you can check them out at the linky.

  1. See you there! I We spent 3 weeks in New Zealand a good 13 years ago and loved it. It’s such an amazingly diverse country packed into a relatively small area. So many of our friends now live out there. And NY is one of my favourite places in the world to visit – we haven’t been since the kids were born but it’s up high on our list.

    Backwards alphabet race, maybe? 🙂
