Project 365 2017 week 9 – It’s springtime

lemon and sugar pancakes

It’s week 9 of Project 365, and it’s been a bit easier taking photos again.  Helped of course, by springtime making itself heard with flowers coming into bloom.  I’m hoping March will be out like a lamb seeing yet more windy, stormy and rainy weather is interspersed with the sunny spells at the start of the month. On Sunday, N had the craft supplies out again. There was glitter everywhere, so I decided to see if I could get any… Continue Reading “Project 365 2017 week 9 – It’s springtime”

41+ no-brainer Lego storage ideas

Lego storage drawers on wheels

Lego is a brilliant toy.  But it’s a pain to store. It’s lovely being able to store sets in their boxes, but it’s rare in our house that anything stays complete or near its original box.  We’ve recently had a declutter and reviewed our Lego storage, so I wanted to share some of our storage solutions. N has a huge Lego collection.  From sets he’s been bought through to Lego from my childhood (some of which was my dad’s). I’m… Continue Reading “41+ no-brainer Lego storage ideas”

My Sunday Photo – me time

My Sunday Photo - coffee bloging break

Since our work moved to flexi-time and allowed those on compressed hours to take flexi as well, I’ve managed to scrape at least a half day off each month.  A day’s nice, but not regularly achievable when there’s been school holidays and my annual leave off.  But half a day works out quite nicely giving me a bit of me time. I do feel a little strange when flexi leave falls outside school holidays. It’s strange going off for the… Continue Reading “My Sunday Photo – me time”

Project 365 2017 week 8 – driving and tango

6yo backing in and reversing the quad bike into the garage

This week I wasn’t really feeling the photos for my Project 365.  The weather was mostly rubbish – I’m so pleased our half term was last week and not this week), and we didn’t really do much. Now the mornings and evenings are lighter, I’m hoping I’ll feel  a bit more inspired over the next  couple of weeks. On Sunday I watched N reverse his quad bike into the garage.  I couldn’t believe how much control he had given he’s… Continue Reading “Project 365 2017 week 8 – driving and tango”

Living Arrows 2017 week 8 – tousled

Living Arrows 2017 week 8 - portrait

I love this photo of N I’ve chosen for my Living Arrows shot this week.  I think it’s just quite intense, and despite being taken under the lights of the kitchen, the lighting worked out ok without bad shadows.  Mostly in the house, N moans about photos being taken. But if I specifically ask if I can take one, he will generally sit (fleetingly which means I have to get the camera set up ready in advance) still for a… Continue Reading “Living Arrows 2017 week 8 – tousled”

Project 365 2017 week 7 – half term fun

snowdrops at Mottisfont

It’s onto week 7 of this year’s Project 365 and half term for us. N and I went away for a few days, so there were plentiful photos to choose from. I may have taken 600+ photos across my phone and camera. Oh and not forgetting my GoPro videos (and accidental photos on there!).  They’re all downloaded to my laptop, organised and sorted out, weeding out the rubbish shots, and now just to tag them as I edit for blog… Continue Reading “Project 365 2017 week 7 – half term fun”

Living Arrows 2017 week 7 – blowing bubbles

N has always struggled with blowing bubbles from old fashioned bubbles tubes.  This contraption was in his stocking from Father Christmas. All it needs is a wipe of the bubble solution on the end where there are lots of little holes. It creates tonnes of small bubbles in a non stop stream.  N loves it, me less so.  Yes he can blow lots of bubbles, but those damn little bubbles aren’t ones that pop. They’re a funny glue-y bubble that… Continue Reading “Living Arrows 2017 week 7 – blowing bubbles”

My Sunday Photo – lone icicle

icicle off the roof

It’s been really chilly this week, and it culminated in me spotting this lone icicle hanging next to the bedroom window. Of course I didn’t have my big camera, only my phone. But given I had to bend my arm holding the phone out of the window in an uncomfortable position, I didn’t mind. Thankfully my phone camera is pretty good and I could get in the trees in the icicle.
