I’d been meaning to return to Upton House (National Trust) for a while now, and had been hoping to see the new 1920s displays and the refilled mirror lake. But we went today for the Easter Egg hunt and the mirror lake was still empty and complete with JCB digger in it N had a great time with his cousin, they spent a lot of time rolling down slopes, running around and just generally having a bit of rough and… Continue Reading “Living Arrows 2017 week 16 – outdoor fun”
This beautiful display of purple flowers was at Upton House, our nearby National Trust property. I took N and the youngest nephew for the Easter Egg hunt. I was a bit disappointed because the mirror lake still is filled in despite them originally saying March it would reopen. The boys just enjoyed rolling down the slopes in the gardens.
It’s onto week 15 of project 365 and the final run up to Easter. We’ve only had 1 week of holidays this week so I’m hoping that lots of children are back to school next week and we’ll have some quiet-ish time away without insane traffic on the roads. On Sunday I finally got round to making my mediterranean courgettes side – I’ve had the post written for ages, but whenever I’ve made it before I’ve never managed to get… Continue Reading “Project 365 2017 week 15 – eggs and horses”
This week’s Living Arrows shot was taken on Thursday afternoon with N getting ready to play badminton. N had had a bump on the head at school first thing that morning, and he was so shaky I’d had to pick him up to keep an eye on him. Oh course by afternoon, he was fine again (albeit with a huge egg on the back of his head) and wanting to play outside. He got lots of outdoor toys out, played… Continue Reading “Living Arrows 2017 week 15 – getting ready to play”
It’s week 14 of this year’s project 365 and we’ve seen the sun. Plus the Easter holidays have arrived for N (although not for me until next Friday as I’m still at work until then). On Sunday, N played outside for a while with his cousin. The 2 of them played nicely together and N insisted on making a shelter with the blanket from the house. On Monday it was a stealing strawberries day. N is a bit of a… Continue Reading “Project 365 2017 week 14”
I have to admit we don’t do many playdates. Mainly because I work, so N goes to after school club. And in the holidays is at holiday club or working with the OH would just wouldn’t ‘do’ playdates. He just refuses to take N places. So he just doesn’t get asked by children in the class. Mostly the playdates he has are via his friends who have mums I’m friends with. His playdates usually become ‘our’ playdates and turn into… Continue Reading “What makes a successful playdate”
There’s been some lovely sunsets earlier this week, and one evening 2 of the cousins turned up for some football in the garden. The 3 of them had a great time, with N occasionally going on the climbing frame to survey his ‘land’ across the fields. I was hoping to get him on the monkey bars, but he’s started to get scared of them. That’s despite him last year being quite happy to whizz straight across hem, much to my… Continue Reading “My Sunday Photo – sunset silhouette”
It’s a double week this time for my Project 365, into week 12 and 13. Week 12 On Sunday, we went for a spring walk in the park so N could scoot. I was disappointed to only see one tree with blossom. Instead there was a lot more graffiti. It’s a shame our town don’t have more talented graffiti artists, because it just looks scruffy rather than artistic. On Monday, N brought another reading book series home. They do like… Continue Reading “Project 365 2017 week 12-13 – volleys and feathers”
