When we go out for the day, ice cream is pretty much essential. Especially when it was a hot sunny day at Countryfile Live. This was taken at the bandstand in the villlage green area. I loved the old fashioned stripy deckchairs too.
The end of week 2 of the school holidays and N chooses to go to soft play. It was a bit of a surprise, I’d expected another day without him while he went out farming. Luckily our local soft play was surprisingly empty so he had a good 1 1/2 hours of play before he was ready for lunch. His favourite part was trampolining. He’s really missed our trampoline which blew away (yes all 14 feet of it) in new… Continue Reading “Living Arrows 2017 week 32 – trampolining”
The first week of the summer holidays, we spent on our annual camping trip with several of our farming friends – mums and kids, plus a couple of dads. We were missing a few of the families from last year, but it’s a lovely group to spend time with and brilliant for the children to enjoy each other’s company. The first 2 days were beautiful – sunny and hot. After pitching the tents, we headed down to Three Cliffs Bay… Continue Reading “Living Arrows 2017 week 31 – beach digging”
N had an inset day on Friday and decided that he just wanted to go to the park for a cycle. He didn’t manage much cycling because we had so much other stuff to do for camping prep, so stuck with the playground instead. This isn’t his natural face…I caught him just as he was grimacing about me taking a photo, but I like the openness of his body as he popped out of the tunnel.
This week’s Living Arrows shot was one taken in the week of N on the swing. He’s had the theory for years about making a swing go – legs forward and back, and then knowing he needed to lean. But until this week, he’s just not grasped putting the lean with the legs. But he’s cracked it and I hadn’t even realised until I spotted him in the garden going higher and hugher. Our climbing frame isn’t secured into the… Continue Reading “Living Arrows – swing in sunset”
Ok, so the hot weather at the moment doesn’t suit me, but it’s still nice to get outdoors for a bit of garden relaxation after school. We even tried doing N’s reading outside, although it’s not easy for 2 people to get comfortable and still be able to read the book together. N spent most of the time hiding from the camera, but I did manage to get this one which I love. It might be summer, but yes, N… Continue Reading “Living Arrows 2017 week 27 – garden relaxation”
I was struggling for photos this week of N. He’s avoided the camera well all week, but I remembered to check my camera and on it found this 1 photo from last week. Last Saturday we went to a 70s themed 40th birthday party. N thought his dad looked really strange (so did I!) in his purple flower power dodgy ‘velour’ flares and top. Add to that this 70s wig and it was a hideous outfit. N was quite taken… Continue Reading “Living Arrows 2017 week 27 – 70s wig”
We’ve not done much over the last few weekends – well, apart from Feast at Waddesdon but I didn’t take many photos because it was just too hot and N wasn’t keen. But there’s been quite a few evenings spent in the garden due to the heat. There’s been lots of bubble fun and paddling pool water silliness. This Living Arrows shot was taken when N was checking out the bubble machine and before he got wet. He’s nearly 6… Continue Reading “Living Arrows – end of year 1 approaching”
This weekend has been sooooo hot. I’m not good in hot weather, so apart from nipping to the supermarket, we hung around at home. N went out on the farm but after lunch had to have a break while the OH went back out. I suggested we get out the paddling pool as the lodgers were around. They live in our converted garage, and the outside tap is in their garden. So we had to ask to borrow the tap.… Continue Reading “Living Arrows 2017 week 25 – bubbles”
This week’s living arrows shot was taken after tennis. They’d had a good session, N had been partnered with a friend from school who also doesn’t spend the lesson mucking around like most of the other boys, so he was happy they were doing the drills properly. But afterwards, I have to get him out without him running off to the playground next to the tennis courts. The week I failed and he was off straight after being released from… Continue Reading “Living Arrows – post tennis play”
