N has always struggled with blowing bubbles from old fashioned bubbles tubes. This contraption was in his stocking from Father Christmas. All it needs is a wipe of the bubble solution on the end where there are lots of little holes. It creates tonnes of small bubbles in a non stop stream. N loves it, me less so. Yes he can blow lots of bubbles, but those damn little bubbles aren’t ones that pop. They’re a funny glue-y bubble that… Continue Reading “Living Arrows 2017 week 7 – blowing bubbles”
N enjoys school but the one thing he’s not keen on is writing. So I was happy to see him getting excited about being close to completing his reward chart writing row – he only needed 6 stickers. So one evening he wrote all 4 of his birthday thank you letters. Then not satisfied that he still had 2 stickers to get, he decided to write about dinosaurs. Three sentences later, I had a piece of paper with information about… Continue Reading “Living Arrows 2017 week 6 – writing practice”
This week’s living arrows makes me smile just looking at it – N in full flow of laughter. He is a cheery little boy usually, and whatever he does there’s always something for him to find funny. I can’t even remember what he was doing here other than cutting and sticking. He does a lot of that. He may have been making a paper plate dinosaur because that school topic seems to have stuck with him this week. I love… Continue Reading “Living Arrows 2017 week 5 roaring with laughter”
Birthday balloons. Pretty much an essential for a child’s birthday. And I think this was his favourite present. Well, maybe apart from the walkie talkies which have already found one make its way down the road to his cousin’s house so they can chat. N had a fairly quiet birthday. His party is next week. Just a swimming lesson, lunch at home because he didn’t want to go out, and then a friend’s party in the afternoon. Although after joining… Continue Reading “Living Arrows 2017 week 4 – birthday balloons”
If there’s one thing that N does really well, it’s lose teeth. The new year has started with lots of gappy smiles. He’s not quite six yet, and on Friday tooth number 6 fell out at school. So the tally is 2 swallowed, 2 lost (on the farm and on a shoot), and 2 brought home from school. At the moment he has a double gap up top. Although the tooth that fell out over Christmas’s replacement is already well… Continue Reading “Living Arrows 2017 week 2 – gappy smiles”
I’m joining in Living Arrows again this year. It’s lovely to be able to look back and see all the photos I’ve taken of N over the past year, and see how much he’s changed. If you want to join in, it’s a lovely friendly community to take part in, you can find its home over at What the Red Head Said – click through the badge below. In between Christmas and New Year, I wanted to make use of… Continue Reading “Living Arrows 2017 week 1 – reflections”
On Christmas eve we were turfed out of the house and farm due to a present delivery, so that meant the park and getting the bike out. We love this bridge – for having a rest (N) and for taking photos (me). The only issue was N wanting photos of him…pulling faces. I did get some nice ones, but I loved this one for the last Living Arrows of the year.
The penultimate Living Arrows shot of 2016 was one taken on our latest visit to Waddesdon Manor the other week. I do like a close up, and this was the last before tooth number 5 fell out (and disappeared while eating sausages at the break on a shoot) and turned N into an even more gappy little boy. His eyes here look really brown-hazel coloured, but usually they’re more green. He always says he doesn’t want green eyes even though… Continue Reading “Living Arrows 2016 week 51 – hazel eyes”
