Living Arrows 2017 week 25 – bubbles

Living Arrows 2017 week 25- escaping bubbles

This weekend has been sooooo hot.  I’m not good in hot weather, so apart from nipping to the supermarket, we hung around at home. N went out on the farm but after lunch had to have a break while the OH went back out. I suggested we get out the paddling pool as the lodgers were around. They live in our converted garage, and the outside tap is in their garden. So we had to ask to borrow the tap.… Continue Reading “Living Arrows 2017 week 25 – bubbles”

Living Arrows – post tennis play

Living Arrows 2017 week 24 post tennis park break

This week’s living arrows shot was taken after tennis.  They’d had a good session, N had been partnered with a friend from school who also doesn’t spend the lesson mucking around like most of the other boys, so he was happy they were doing the drills properly. But afterwards, I have to get him out without him running off to the playground next to the tennis courts. The week I failed and he was off straight after being released from… Continue Reading “Living Arrows – post tennis play”

Living Arrows – tunnel reflection

Living Arrows 2017 week 22 - tunnel reflection

We had an inset day before half term, and with the weather being beautiful I’d decided that we should go and check out Bosworth Water Park complete with inland beach. Not only was there a small lake for paddling but there was a great pirate playground. N loved it, and I managed to grab this photo of him just as he stopped to say ‘no photos’. The tunnel reflection looks a bit like rippling water.  Nothing like the sandy murky… Continue Reading “Living Arrows – tunnel reflection”

Living Arrows 2017 week 21 – looking up

Living Arrows 2017 week 21 - looking up

A day spent in St Nicholas’ Park playing mini golf, going on fair rides, the playground and riding his bike. I’d say that was a pretty much perfect day for a 6 year old boy. This shot I’ve chosen for living arrows this week, was when N was on a little netted ’roundabout’ swing. He still looks really young here, despite his huge front teeth!  I’m predicting he’ll be like me and need a tooth or two out, and a… Continue Reading “Living Arrows 2017 week 21 – looking up”

Living Arrows – reflective play

Living Arrows 2017 week 20 - mirror reflections

N had numerous strange things that he’s taken ownership of over the years. This compact mirror from a cracker has been floating around the kitchen for a while, and the other day he was playing around with it. He spotted I had the camera out and wanted to see if I could get a photo of me reflected in the mirror. It was a bit blurry, but I was more excited to see outdoors through the window reflected in his eye.… Continue Reading “Living Arrows – reflective play”

Living Arrows 2017 week 18 – sleeping bag snuggles

Living Arrows 2017 week 18 snuggling up

This week’s Living Arrows shot was going to be a totally different photo.  And then I found this (and a series of other similar shots) that I’d taken of N when I got my camera back and was testing it out again). When N gets tired, he brings his sleeping bag and pillows downstairs to snuggle up in and watch tv (currently Horrible Histories is his obsession).  He kept hiding from me but eventually agreed to have his photo taken.… Continue Reading “Living Arrows 2017 week 18 – sleeping bag snuggles”

Living Arrows 2017 week 17 – natural playground

Living Arrows 2017 week 17 - happy in a natural playground

We’ve just come back from a few days away in Norfolk. I was able to relive some of the places my mum took us when we were children holidaying there, but it wasn’t as fulfilled as I’d planned because N wasn’t well.  He’s still not right – still saying he’s hot and cold on occasions, and a headache that’s coming and going.  So I’m a little concerned after a few days of this. Hopefully he’ll have had enough rest over… Continue Reading “Living Arrows 2017 week 17 – natural playground”

Living Arrows 2017 week 16 – outdoor fun

Living Arrows 2017 week 16 fun at Upton house

I’d been meaning to return to Upton House (National Trust) for a while now, and had been hoping to see the new 1920s displays and the refilled mirror lake.  But we went today for the Easter Egg hunt and the mirror lake was still empty and complete with JCB digger in it N had a great time with his cousin, they spent a lot of time rolling down slopes, running around and just generally having a bit of rough and… Continue Reading “Living Arrows 2017 week 16 – outdoor fun”
