Last week was the OH’s birthday and this hat turned up in the house having been a present from the in-laws. Although N seemed quite taken with it. It was straight on his head and he was willingly ‘posing’ for the camera. I think the tongue just adds to the look!
Our labrador is meant to be a gun dog. We went to pick her up when N was just under 3 months old, so they’ve grown up together. She’s a lovely temperament, is great around children and is a good protector. She is a rubbish gundog though, because she’s gunshy. She’s too nervy and doesn’t like loud noises. So she mostly just roams the farm all day. This morning though, I’d opened the door to get a shot of the… Continue Reading “My Sunday Photo – friendly labrador”
This year feels like it’s been going on a while now, but we’re only in week 2. The weather’s been miserable and I’ve been relying on my phone camera. That’s if I even remember to take photos. I was struggling this week to remember which is ridiculous given this is my 4th year! On Sunday, we had to do N’s reading. He only had 1 book thankfully, but had put it off until Sunday which meant he had to read… Continue Reading “Project 365 2017 week 2 hot chocolate and reading books”
If there’s one thing that N does really well, it’s lose teeth. The new year has started with lots of gappy smiles. He’s not quite six yet, and on Friday tooth number 6 fell out at school. So the tally is 2 swallowed, 2 lost (on the farm and on a shoot), and 2 brought home from school. At the moment he has a double gap up top. Although the tooth that fell out over Christmas’s replacement is already well… Continue Reading “Living Arrows 2017 week 2 – gappy smiles”
Happy new year, and welcoming to the new year of Project 365. If you’re new it, it’s a photo a day for a year (or 4 years in my case). I can’t believe I’ve managed it all that time, but I love to see what we get up to over the weeks, and it’s a great chance to take different photos and share them. You can join in on your blog or if you don’t have one via instagram using… Continue Reading “Project 365 2017 week 1 – a new year”
We had a morning at Stowe Gardens the other day, before the crowds arrived. Giving us time to decide how far to walk and where. The advent trail was largely ignored in favour of us going where N fancied. It was a beautiful crisp winters day and the sun was beautifully reflecting everything in the lake.
So it’s finally here and I’ve completed my third year of Project 366. It’s been hard at times as usual – when the winter nights roll in and we’re limited to after school indoor shots. Plus because of the variety of shots I like to take, I get some odd looks from people at work or friends, who’re by now used to some of the strange (but oh so pretty) things I take photos of. I’m going to continue next… Continue Reading “Project 366 2016 week 52 – the last one”
On Christmas eve we were turfed out of the house and farm due to a present delivery, so that meant the park and getting the bike out. We love this bridge – for having a rest (N) and for taking photos (me). The only issue was N wanting photos of him…pulling faces. I did get some nice ones, but I loved this one for the last Living Arrows of the year.
I love Christmas tree light photos, and working through Emma Davies’ A Year With my Camera for this week meant trying out different shaped bokeh photography. Of course, N refused to be in my photos – he wouldn’t sit still anyway which didn’t help. So one of his bears helped out. I tried hearts and stars, although my free form stars weren’t great. I still like this photo – and it’s something to work on next year…maybe try and work… Continue Reading “My Sunday Photo – Christmas tree bokeh”
