Clocks back, full moon

It’s been a bit of a spooky time over the last week what with the clocks going back, new moons and today Halloween.  We haven’t celebrated Halloween this year (living in the middle of nowhere means you can get away with not decorating the house and you don’t have to suffer strangers turning up at the front door) as we’ve not been at a party, but there’s been a great full moon.  I’ve been enjoying it as I’ve got back from work now the evenings are dark again.

I’m always a bit wary of the clocks changing as you never know what your kids are going to do.  Luckily N seems to adjust naturally.

A few days before they change I have a think and have a debate as to whether I’ll start gradually putting him to bed later or earlier to let him adjust, but in the end this time he went to bed at the same time as normal (7pm summer time), and thankfully woke up at 6am new time.  He usually wakes any time between 6.15 and 7am so think he did pretty well.

He did seem a bit more tired than usual on the Sunday – he had a short snooze in the car for 20 minutes in the morning, and then was back to a mammoth 3 hour nap in the afternoon, but now he’s back on normal sleep patterns.  He seemed to do the same back in March when the clocks went forward too so hoping that continues as he gets older.

  1. Somehow I’ve never considered my toddler waking up and hour earlier, he seems to sleep 8-9 hours no matter what time we put him to bed. My 10 month old however, shall be interesting. Enjoy the extra hour!
