The Oxfordshire Cook Book for food and local lovers

June saw the launch of a new cookbook local to me, The Oxfordshire Cook Book. Loving local eateries and produce, I’ve bee able to support the launch and I have one books to giveaway on the blog to one lucky reader.  This is the 11th in the range of ‘Get Stuck in’ regional books from Meze Publishing.

The Oxfordshire Cook Book has brought together local chefs, restaurants, and producers to share knowledge, recipes and some of the best places to eat out in the county.  In Oxfordshire, we really are lucky in what’s on offer, From Michelin starred pub The Nut Tree to The Oxford Cheese Company, there’s food to suit any budget and type of food lover.

The cook book includes beautiful photography as well as input from top chefs in the area, and other food experts. There’s something for everyone and it’s a chance to explore the foody county.

  2. My favourite is a restaurant from back when I was at uni – Bistro46 in Jesmond, Newcastle.

  3. I have just moved to Oxford and am keen to sample the local fare. My favourite restaurant is one ‘Nid’s’ on the island of Koh Chang – home-cooked Thai food and the best hospitality in the world, in a bamboo and palmleaf restaurant crammed with incredible curiosities…

  4. Gee whites, Swanage for holidays and the grey lady, Newtown linford at home

  5. Heston Blumenthal’s ‘The Fat Duck’ in Bray. It’s the best restaurant I’ve ever eaten in – not that I’m a regular..I won a free meal in a competition 😉

  6. There’s a restaurant back home in the States called The Blue Canoe. It just reopened after a fire and still has wonderful food.

  7. The Merkister Hotel in Harray, Orkney. Love to eat out a lot but also love cooking good food at home! This would be perfect to add to my cook book collection 🙂

  9. My favourite restaurant is Viva Cuba in Leeds – it serves the most AMAZING tapas at great prices, and is decorated in a fabulous Cuban vibe!

  10. The Iron Duke at Stratfield Saye – fab food, excellent service but also manages to be very relaxed

  11. I love the falcon which is just outside of Banbury. Atmosphere and decor is homely and food tastes great

  12. I don’t have a favourite – I like to try different ones and we don’t eat out very often.

  13. I dont know whether it is still there but it was a little restaurant in the Smuggles inn in Selsey Bill

  14. I don’t have one because I’m mostly housebound so my kitchen is my favourite restaurant 🙂

  15. Mama Rosa’s in Tynemouth, North east (Italian restaurant overlooking the sea!)

  16. My fav is Nandos; I can actually taste the spices and the food has flavour and isn’t bland.
