Project 365 2017 week 14

It’s week 14 of this year’s project 365 and we’ve seen the sun.  Plus the Easter holidays have arrived for N (although not for me until next Friday as I’m still at work until then).

On Sunday, N played outside for a while with his cousin. The 2 of them played nicely together and N insisted on making a shelter with the blanket from the house.

On Monday it was a stealing strawberries day. N is a bit of a strawberry monster, so I’m preparing myself for buying a lot of strawberries.  I love the light in this photo, I really should use the room for more photos.

On Tuesday, the father in law came out of hospital. He’s been in for a heart operation, so we had to warn N to be careful around him.  Seeing this picture of N heading over to the farm to see him, it’s noticeable that he has done a bit of growing. His PE shorts are no longer as much like a long skirt!

On Wednesday I noticed our wisteria is getting ready to bloom.  It fell off the wall a couple of years ago and has never been repinned up, so it’s not very noticeable when the car has parked in front of it. Maybe I’ll get someone to pin it up again this year.

On Thursday we had an eventful day with me having to pick N up with a bumped head. In the evening we decorated the eggs we’d boiled in preparation for his easter egg roll at school on the last day.  N requested a cow, so this was my attempt. As you can see, I’m not an artist.

On Friday, I spotted these meringues in our local shop for a bargain £1. Usually they’re a lot more expensive so of course I had to try them.

On Saturday, the weather was so beautiful. We spent the day at Cotswold Wildlife Park with friends and had a lovely if warm day. Hot weather/sun headache in the evening because it was a bit too much sun for the first time of the year. The boys had a great time…mainly discovering the really high fast slide.

  1. My sheep last year was much better – easier faces to draw.

I don’t know what it is with boys and heads. N’s always bumping his too, but never this badly. Someone the other day said that while they’re going through growth spurts they can get clumsy so maybe it’s that.

    1. He and the youngest see each other all the time at school and at weekends – they’re the nearest in age. The other set of cousins are usually off riding. But all 7 of the cousins do really get on well. Lucky given they live within 1.5 miles of each other

  2. Love that photo with the camels! I had the hot weather/ sun headache yesterday too! I wasn’t even outside that much, but it was so hot when I was! Hope N’s head is all better now and I think you did a pretty good job with the cow egg!

    1. Yes, his head’s much better now, just hurts when he presses on it, although the bump is still there. Obviously he’s got a pretty solid head, he’s always bumping it!

  3. Aww! That photo of your boy pinching the strawberry is just fab! hehehe I bought the first boxes of the year yesterday. They’re nearly all gone already.
Those meringues do look very tasty! Of course you had to try them 🙂

    1. Yes, we’ve been through a few already. I buy british though, and was very disappointed with a Tesco pack yesterday. Bought 2 days ago, use by date was today, went to eat yesterday and over half the pack was too mushy to eat. I had to chuck them because I wouldn’t even have put them in smoothies. It was a new variety as well, not the usual elsanta, so will be avoiding those this season.
