Project 52 2019 week 44 – autumn colours

Week 44 of Project 52 has been a week of 2 halves. A couple of days in work, then the rest off for half term with N. The weather’s been the same too. Luckily we had 2 days of sun before the storms came.

Sunday was a frantic day – our sprocker had a hurdle fall on her leg, the same one she broke when she was much younger. So it’s been a lot of trips to the vet for her, a few operations, and her being promoted to house dog while the labrador has been relegated back to the kennel.

At the same time N had a tennis tournament. His first non-local one. He ended up having an ear infection, which I think impacted him a lot. He didn’t get on with a lot of things there and has decided he wants to play no more matches (except the little local ones).

On Monday, N spent the day on the farm as well as playing with his cousin. At work we were frantically trying to get reports ready for publication ahead of potential election purdah.

On Tuesday it was more of the same.

Wednesday turned out to be a lovely day. We decided to make the most of it and go to Cannon Hill Park in Birmingham. It’s a lovely park with fair rides, land train, wildlife centre and crazy golf. We had a lovely morning there.

On Thursday we decided to go to Drayton Manor theme park. I’ve not been since I was about 15 so I couldn’t remember it at all. We went with my sister in law and youngest nephew. The boys had a great day – there’s lots of family rides there, and they were happy with a couple of the Thomasland rides as well. So lots of fun, a quick picnic, and not too far from home. We’ll definitely be back.

Friday was a quiet day, mostly at home. A brief trip into town, with a cheeky McDonalds lunch as I’d promised that for N over the holidays. We spent the afternoon just chilling out, doing some crafting (unsuccessfully) and doing a bit of homework.

Saturday was the first shoot day of the season but because of the rugby, people had requested it started later. Rather than a 9 start, it was 11.30ish which meant most of my free day was gone before they’d even left. I didn’t do much – nipped to the shop, had lunch, read, did some of my jigsaw puzzle. Once N was back in, we snuggled under the blankets on the sofa to watch Strictly Come Dancing. Well, I watched, he watched Youtube.

This week’s photo was taken at Cannon Hill Park, a view of autumn colours from the train.

  1. Most beautiful autumnal scene. Glad the boys enjoyed the rides at Dryaton Manor park. Don’t think we’ve ever been there, but my guys love the rides as well.
Apologies if my comment is a duplicate, as I tried to comment, but then it disappeared into the ether. 🙂
