Enjoying family days out in Worcestershire

We love a day out whether it’s just a weekend day popping out somewhere, or a day out while on holiday.  I’m reliving my childhood visiting around the UK, near home and further away, and love sharing it with N. So if you’re looking for family days out in Worcestershire, you’re in the right place.

This series of days out posts are based on round ups of places we’ve loved on our travels.  Hopefully it’ll make them easier for you to find, especially if you’re looking for recommendations for places to visit. I’ll also be including recommendations from other bloggers, because if you’re looking for guidance on where to go you want to hear from local people as well as visitors to an area.

Museums, culture and history

Avoncroft Museum, Stoke Heath – step back in time into buildings from every era, plus phone box displays and a miniature railway.

Witley Court and Gardens, Great Witley – ruins of a large historic home, with parterres and famous water fountain which fires every hour in summer. Lovely walks near the lakeside and woodlands.

National Trust

Snowshill manor, near Broadway –  lovely walk up to the house, with orchard and small natural play area on the walk. The manor is crammed full of random collections of items.

Croome Park, Upton upon Severn – stunning parkland and walk up to the house.

Hanbury Hall, Droitwich – plenty of different gardens to explore, plus a playground too, the ice house is popular with children.

Wildlife and nature

All Things Wild, Honeybourne – different wildlife and zoo animals, plus plenty of play areas and educational aspects. Handy for parties

West Midlands Safari park, Bewdley – get unbelievably close to the animals on safari, plus there’s a small ‘theme’ park ride area (costs extra)

Cotswold lavender, Snowshill – beautiful, chance to walk the lavender during July-August. If you’re there during harvest, you can see the distillery in action.

The Real Flower Petal Confetti Company, Pershore – flower fields only open 10 days a year, plus cafe
