This weekend we discovered some bluebell woods near us just outside Oxford.  It was definitely worth the hour’s journey, and was quite spectacular, literally a blue carpet.

N found a tree that he could stand in, and do what could only be describes as aerobics inside, leaning, turning and pushing himself from one side to the other.  Needless to say he was about to talk here, hence the funny expression, where he looks like he’s frowning.

It was the first time he wanted to try climbing trees without me encouraging him.  Maybe his new wellies are making him more confident!

Beautiful photos, I forget how lucky we are to have this on our doorstep. He looks so handsome and grown up here. Great capture, definitely worth the journey #livingarrows

    • Thanks. It’s great when you get the chance to get out with the intention to take photos, and it all works out.

  2. He looks so grown up standing there and can’t wait for a time when the kids start to climb trees. Love a bluebell wood too! x

    • I was really pleased to find a good wood. Last year was a failure. I don’t think N’s really much of a climber, not in comparison to his older cousins, who shin up trees I’d never think would be possible to climb. Thankfully he’s not yet shown much interest, but maybe he will do a bit more now.
