Shoot season has started. N loves spending time being a gamekeeper – he goes out with his dad on the quad bike at the weekends to feed the pheasants.  And then when there’s a shoot, he goes after swimming to join the others and do some beating.

His shooting jacket was a handmedown from his cousin last year. I reckon he’s got this year and next to wear it unless he has a huge growth spurt.

This year they had to change the pub they go to for the shoot dinner afterwards. The old pub was our nearest, with great hospitality and food. N loved it because the kids could go out and play in the nearby field afterwards. But he wasn’t impressed with the new pub this week.  Supposedly the yorkshire pudding wasn’t very good (the OH said it was fine just different), and it was boring because there was nothing to do there.

Living Arrows 2017 week 45 - ready for shoot day

Living Arrows badge

  1. He looks so grown up here. I find it so interesting to hear what your life is like on the farm – it’s totally different to what my boys are experiencing growing up. It sounds brilliant fun for a little boy 🙂

    • It’s definitely a good life for children. And because all our farmer friends are quite close, it means all the kids grow up knowing other farming kids too

  2. He is having just the best childhood – it’s so different to being a child around here! x
