I’ve been seeing a lot of flax fields recently near us. Previously there haven’t been any round us, so it’s been lovely to see the fields amongst the greens and yellows. From a distance they look bloe, but up close, a beautiful purple.
The field I managed to stop to photograph had a few lone poppies and a smattering of white flowers too.

Great shot the poppy makes the blue so much bluer #MySundayPhoto
Lovely photo! We have one of these fields near us. I’m sure I’ve never seen one before and I had no idea what it was, so thanks for telling me it’s flax!
Beautiful. I love how the red stands out against all that lovely purple. Great shot 🙂 #MySundayPhoto
Love this image.Poppy really stands out in that sea of purple.
You can’t beat the English countryside for colour in summer. Most things here are dry and yellow,The red poppy against the purple background stands out perfectly.

Standing proud and not afraid to be noticed!
I love the way the redness of the poppy stands out against the sea of purple.
Wow, where did you spot this? We haven’t seen any this year at all!

Just on the oxfordshire warwickshire border. The only place i used to see it was as a kid on the way to my dancing lessons just outside Killington but the flax isn’t there anymore. I’ve seen a lot this way this year. Must be a new thing
