This week’s My Sunday Photo was one I took after our work conference once we’d gone for lunch at a pub by the river in Oxford.  They served Pimms in mini jugs which was a cute idea, and it made for a great photo opportunity, especially with the gorgeous whitewashed picnic tables.

Along with the rest of the photography club at work, we’d been asked to do the photography for the conference which was a little scary.  But it’s great to be challenged and is a good way to network without having to make lots of small talk. Because everyone just knows who you are, what you’re doing and will chat to you about your camera and taking photos.  It really did turn out to be hard – I don’t think I’ll ever be taking up conference photography!  I did get some lovely photos of work colleagues relaxing in the afternoon though.  Informal photography is much more my thing.

My Sunday Photo - Wrapstock Pimms and camera

Thanks to us setting up the photography club, we took some head shots for someone setting up their own business, and one of my photos was chosen for her website. Whoop.  I was really chuffed to see me credited.

  1. Ooh this makes me want a Pimms! Well done on being credited for your pic on the new business site too! #MySundayPhoto

  2. This sounds brilliant, what a great idea. The pimms looks so refreshing.

    Thank you for linking up

  3. I love candid photography too – one of my favourites. What a fab opportunity. I wish we had a photography club here. May have to look into that 🙂

  4. Ah, I know what you mean. I’ve occasionally done some photography at work events. While it’s nice to have a reason to randomly wander around the crowd, it’s a bit nerve-racking as well knowing you need some decent output at the end of it.

    • Thats exactly it. I had a lotbof blurry shots, the lighting was hard to work out and avoiding microphones in front of peoples face was interesting. Good experience though.

  5. I apologise for the bad grammar and sentences in my comment. Either my eyesight has completely failed me or – more likely – my predictive text is running rampant!!!

  6. A jug of Pimms is perfect for summer – but I am you to enjoy one barking in this summer’s sunshine!!
What a great idea setting the the photography club, and really well done on your portrait shot being and accredited – could this be the start of a new career path?!?!

    • Ah, I don’t think so. It’s good fun chatting to people about photography and bouncing ideas and questions but I’d hate to be self employed. I’m definitely not good at formal photography. The whole interacting and guiding people on when and how to look isn’t something I’m comfortable with at all

    • They were so sweet. Althoughbi was worried at first at how large they were. Those who has glasses instead got short changed
