Project 52 2022 week 52

The last Project 52 of the year. I enjoy doing these because it keeps my blog more personal, although there’s less and less to write about. We just don’t do much exciting stuff week in week out. It’s been a fairly good year, and here’s hoping 2023 brings more good and positive aspects to it.

Here’s my week 52 for Project, and a nice tidy end to the year.

Sunday was Christmas day which we spent at home. My brother came over and it was nice to have a fairly relaxing day. The OH went out in the afternoon to feed the cattle, N and my brother went to walk the dog. My knee’s been twinging a bit so I didn’t want to go with them. I emptied the dishwasher for the 2nd time that day! We ate good food, drank some bucks fizz, chatted, and checked out Christmas gifts.

Boxing Day on Monday was very relaxing. We had lunch at the farm with some of the family which was nice. Otherwise it was a day watching films, playing board games and reading.

Tuesday was the in lieu bank holiday, and much of the same. We’d been due to meet friends but they’ve had covid, so it was cancelled. I’m struggling to think of activities or places to visit that N won’t moan about. Instead he went out on the farm for a bit, while I got through a couple of books. Then we had Monopoly out for a bit.

On Wednesday, we didn’t do anything. It really is a relaxing time at the moment. I made lemon curd for the first time – to use up the egg yolks left from the pavlova I made for Christmas day. Someone came to pick up 5 puzzles they’d bought.

Thursday was more productive. I had a small food shop arrive, then headed to town to pick up an order. N needed new socks, but I couldn’t find any in his size in the 3 shops I tried. So frustrating when they have stacks in the smaller size he used to wear. I took down the christmas tree and decorations, vacuumed, and caught up with some washing.

On Friday it was another relaxing day as I had a slight headache. I always get one when I wake to N cooking breakfast, whether it’s bacon or a toastie. The last of the turkey was eaten – in turkey pie with garlic bread topping. Delicious. I got on with my puzzle too.

Saturday I had an early hair cut. I was pleased with it although the prices have gone up again. I’ll be stretching it out to 12 weeks from 10-11 in future. We don’t usually do anything for new year’s eve. N has decided he’ll stay up as long as his dad, although I doubt that’ll be past 10pm.

Happy new year to you, thanks for reading this year, and I’ll see you in 2023.

  1. I struggle to find things to write about with very little going on in the week. My hubby loves lemon curd and I make it for him although I never eat it

  2. I know the feeling of less and less to write about, our problem is more that we don’t have the same days off, so don’t tend to go out. I haven’t had my haircut since the summer and really need one. Hope you have a very Happy New Year!

    1. I find N just doesn’t want to come out. I should just drag him out but then he’ll moan all day, but won’t come up with ideas of what he wants to do. It’s hard when there’s just one. We need to arrange to go with friends then he’ll have distraction rather than it just being me

  3. Happy New Year!
Covid seems to be an issue again, which is so annoying. These lovely tranquil moments are lovely too, at least that’s how I see them.

  4. It sounds like you had a good Christmas. I love lemon curd, I’ve never thought of making it myself. It looks great!
Happy new year! Wishing you all the best for 2023. x
