blogmas christmas tag for bloggers

Christmas Blogmas tag

I love a blogger tag – it’s a nice way to find out more about a blogger. Add Christmas in, and hopefully there are tips and ideas to take away. Or make you remember your favourites and memories. Here’s my Christmas blogmas tag for this year. (Ok, so I’ve not done Blogmas this year, and haven’t been tagged, but I noticed it on someone else’s blog, so decided to use the questions myself).

What is your favourite Christmas treat?

Any novelty chocolate, or Ferrero Rocher, or Terry’s Chocolate Orange – they’re my downfall usually, but not this year as I’m on my keto diet.  So I need to get making some keto or low carb friendly treats for myself.

What Christmas traditions do you celebrate?

Apart from putting up the tree, and N having chocolate coins in his advent calendar each year.  I like to watch The Snowman every year like we used to as children, do gift wrapping and card writing to Christmas music. We always try and see some Christmas light trails too.

Are you wishing for snow this year?

Definitely not.  Being on a farm, snow is just inconvenient and creates extra work for them working and helping dig out cars from crashing on the roads (even if I’m at home not needing to do anything). The only bonus is we do have our own land and hills to go sledging on, so that can be fun, as long as I don’t have to go anywhere untl it’s melted.

What is your favourite Christmas movie?

We loved Christmas Chronicles. It’s a lovely film to watch with children, and so much better than my old childhood favourite of Santa Claus the movie, which N never got into.

Have you ever built a gingerbread house?

No, I can’t even recall having made gingerbread either. Maybe that’s something I need to do with N this year. Although he’d probably want to make them himself.

What is your favourite hot chocolate?

Just a classic hot chocolate with cream is the best.  I love the smell of all the different flavours like hazelnut, mint, and orange. But the taste is always a let down.  Now I’m on keto I can’t have normal milk – so almond milk if I’m having one from a coffee shop, at home I do a mix of coconut or almond milk with some cream, and cacao or dark chocolate. Not quite the same, but if I really want a hot chocolate, it gives the chocolate hit.

What gift are you hoping to get this year?

I’ve asked for very boring gifts this year. I really need a new pair of wellies – my old cheap short ones I found cut into my left calf, so have to cut splits in the leg to make them comfy. It means they’re not practical for keeping dry or keeping the mud off, so I’m after a new pair. I’ve found Jileon wellies which do wider legs, and there’s a grey spotty pair I want – I’m hoping the OH got them, otherwise I’ve missed out on the Black Friday and further reductions.  I was also after a pair of Turtle Dove fingerless gloves/wrist warmers.

Really, I’m most excited about N’s present this year (joint birthday gift), as really we’ll have fun together using it.

What are you looking forward to for Christmas?
