Project 52 2025 week 40 and 41

A double weeker for Project 52 this week. Last week I got to the final day to update, then couldn’t be bothered, so left it til this week to combine the two. So Week 40 and 41 are below.

Week 40

Sunday – after Saturday’s busy morning, I could actually relax a bit. I’d debated going to Blenheim but it wasn’t the best weather so did a quick Waitrose trip for bread, got petrol and dropped off another parcel.

Monday – just school and work. A few more Vinted sales which is handy. My pile is going down gradually.

Tuesday – just work, and then dancing in the evening which was pretty busy.  My Fitbit is dying, and I’m still clinging on to it through a lot of charging.

Wednesday – had to drop N off then rush to the supermarket to get our traditional birthday gift for my father in law. Spent some time in the evening unsuccessfully trying to sort out N’s laptop/xbox permissions because they’re stopping him from being able to play online with a couple of friends intermittently. I know nothing about gaming, just that it’s a faff and never simple to set up for kids vs yourself with your email details.

Thursday – very early start to go to London for work. Lovely walk along the Regents Canal to get to the office, and back. Although very sweaty and hot. The trains were on time, but 20 minutes to get out of the station car park is insane – lots of roadworks in the main part of the station so everyone’s now parking in the same car park so even more traffic going over the bridge where all the traffic lights are. Of course it was the worst I’ve seen it when I needed to get out quickly to get to dancing. By the end of 2 hours dancing I was exhausted. Too much walking during the day and then dancing.

Friday – such a wet windy day. Tennis was cancelled, so it was a chippy tea.

Saturday – N had a hair appointment (his hairdresser always says how much she likes him because he chats away to her, not like most boys of his age). Then I dropped him home before quickly nipping into town. We tried a different bakery today which has nice bread, but I’m never that keen on the pastries in comparison to the market stall I usually get our bakery stuff from. Otherwise just a day at home

Week 41

Sunday – a lazy day at home. I had a lie in, then read quite a bit, tried to learn some line dances I wanted to do, watch a film etc. We had a good roast beef dinner.

Monday –  not a lot happening, just work and school. The ask for school books and revision guides has started. It would be good if they just sent a list at the start of the year with what they’re studying, then we’d know what we would buying and when they’d need it.

Tuesday – I was in the office for work, then hung around afterwards before going dancing. I did my usual changing my top sitting in the car in a car park. Hopefully the CCTV is never pointing my direction, although vest tops are very handy to be changing tops over and then removing the vest top without taking off the top layer. It was a good class, although the improvers 2nd class was much quieter than normal.

Wednesday – my birthday. I had quite a few cards, 2 bunches of lovely flowers, and I’ve already spent my Amazon voucher on a new Fitbit as mine has been dying for ages. I got a good deal in the Prime deals too. I refused to cook dinner, so we went out to eat at one of the pubs. It was a nice meal – it’s not often we all go out together.

Thursday – planted my birthday pansies in the pot by the front door. I’m a bit worried that my muscari bulbs in there won’t have room to grow and push through – I’ve no idea how long pansies last, or what I do with bedding plants after they’re dead. In the evening I had dancing. It was quiet busy and we had a lot of laughs. My Fitbit died halfway through so it didn’t record my exercise which was frustrating.

Friday – the OH said he’d do drop off and pick up from tennis, so it meant I could go to the monthly dancing social. Yay. I carshared with some different people, and there were lots of my Tuesday night class there as well as the Thursday lot.  I’d taught myself a couple of my ‘to learn’ dances from the last social, and managed to keep up with those pretty well which was good. Now to get round to learning the 20ish others on my list. I did pick up 2 beginners dances there as well as they walked those through.  But did have a disaster totally forgetting most of one of my favourite dances that is usually locked in my brain. Oops. I was obviously tired by that point. It was a late night getting to bed.

Saturday – my replacement Fitbit arrived. Unfortunately I’d made a mistake on the strap I’d ordered, so that’s going back, and another one ordered that’s the correct size! I wonder what you’re meant to do with old fitness trackers?  I’ve got a few of them somewhere in drawers. Otherwise a normal everyday Saturday. N was out on the farm all day, I did a town trip in the morning for the bakery stall. Picked some apples for a crumble. And caught up on Celebrity Traitors that I’d not seen during the week.

simmentals and calves

Things I’m grateful for this week:

  • A new Fitbit coming just in time
  • A spot on my forehead arriving one day (I never get them there), and pretty much gone the next (urgh to still getting spots at my age)
  • Autumn meaning the OH was around to taxi N around.

Things I’ve enjoyed this week:

  • Line dance social, and getting to know different people better.
  • My birthday – a nice meal out and some lovely flowers from a friend, and sister in law.
  • Watching the new calves out in the field behind.
