Book review: There’s a Dinosaur in my Bathtub
We were sent There’s a Dinosaur in my Bathtub to review by Britmums. If you’re a regular reader, you’ll know we love books, and this shoots right up near the top of the list for me. Even N was keen to read it, even though he can sometimes be a bit funny with dinosaur books, and books with girls in.
The illustrations are really bold colours and I love that in a picture book, showing it really means business. I find N’s more interested in books that are bolder in colour on the whole. The pictures are quite busy – there’s always something to look at and find. With the font style, it feels quite vintage-y.
This is about a little girl and the dinosaur in her bathtub, a French dinosaur at that. They try and keep him hidden until it’s time for him to go. Adding the French aspect, adds a little bit of extra fun; it’s a great way to introduce children to a new language. N does a little bit of French at both of his nurseries, so every little bit thrown in helps.
It’s a fun book, and one that we both enjoyed, so it’ll be staying on our reading piles.
