Lemon keto fat bomb recipe
I find it much easier being really strict on a diet rather than letting myself have a little of what I fancy occasionally. But I do have a sweet tooth and something I just need a sweet hit to avoid raiding N’s treat tin or the larder…that cooking chocolate is calling me!
On a keto diet, sweet treats and desserts are find to have because you can generally do a replacement for the carbs. Obviously you still need to be restrained as they are still calorific, but your body is getting its craving and fat it needs without dipping into sugary treats.

Fat bombs (or keto bombs) can give you that sweet hit while being satisfying in small portions. I also like that most of them are good for freezing which means easier portion control. Especially if you need to let them melt a little before eating.
I love a chocolate hit (see my chocolate raspberry fat balls or coconut bombs), but a zingy lemon was something I wanted to try. The cheesecake balls I tried weren’t a success so I resorted back to a coconut base as these have all worked so far. If you’re not a coconut fan, there’s no danger in tasting coconut with this lemon keto fat bomb recipe. They’re so lemony that you don’t taste the coconut.
They don’t take a long time to make but do allow for chilling time. I decided to put mine in the freezer as they weren’t setting well enough in the fridge to remove from the mould. If they’re in the freezer, you just need to allow them to sit out for a minute or so before removing them from the mould.
If you want to try other citrus flavours, try lime, orange or even grapefruit. Just replace the zest and juice with the fruit you want.
Make more of less just by increasing or decreasing the recipe amounts. The number you make will depend on the size of your mould – silicone moulds are the way to go for ease of removal.
The general gist is 1 part of each coconut oil, coconut butter and unsalted butter. Sweetener of your choice to taste (although go for powdered, and start with a smaller amount before increasing as all sweeteners are different in strength). Because they can be stored frozen, it doesn’t matter if you make too many. They should keep for a month in the freezer, or around a week in the fridge if you’re keeping them softer.
Lemon keto fat bomb recipe
Keto lemon fat bombs
A zingy lemon coconut fat bomb, keto diet friendly sweet treats
Ingredients
- 1 lemon zest and juice
- 1/2 cup coconut oil
- 1/2 cup coconut butter
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 tsp powdered Stevia or use alternative powdered sweetener
Instructions
Leave coconut oil, butter and coconut butter to soften slightly, then mix together in a bowl.
Add sweetener of your choice, lemon juice and zest and stir to mix, then pour into moulds
Chill or freeze to set. If the fridge leaves them too wet (mine does), just freeze instead. Just bring out of the freezer for a minute or 2 to loosen from the mould before eating.
Recipe Notes
If you don’t want to freeze them, reduce or exclude the butter. They’ll still work and taste good.
