Songs over 6 minutes long

Pop songs are on average 3 to 5 minutes long. The 1950s and 60s saw shorter tracks, while they increased in length to the 80s. But there’s been little variation since then. However, there’s plenty of songs bucking the trend, being released as much longer tracks. Here I’m listing songs over 6 minutes long.

Many of the really long songs can be whole albums, then split into sub tracks. Others have shorter radio edits, or released as a short cover by another singer.

As with many of these lists, it’s often the same artists appearing. For long songs, Led Zeppelin feature a number of times, as do other more rock themed bands. Not forgetting the experimental artists rather than manufactured pop. 

For me I prefer a shorter song – I can get a bit bored listening to the same singer for too long. But if you’re wanting to get more immersed in an artist or band’s sound, then here’s songs over 6 minutes long for you to enjoy.
