Project 52 2025 week 2

Week 2 of Project 52 and the year, and it’s been quite a boring one. Although I have got in plenty of reading, haven’t yet got back on my healthy eating which is annoying, and am back into the Traitors. Here’s my week.

Sunday – snowy on waking but much milder and then raining so had all disappeared by late afternoon. Stayed in the warm, bemoaned my terrible Fantasy Football team results. Got my head around being back at work on Monday.

Monday – wet overnight, then snowed for an hour. Luckily didn’t settle on the roads as it was too wet, so safely into work after clearing it off my car.  N had an inset day, so was out on the farm again all day. School will be a shock!  The office was nice and busy for our team, met some new starters. Start of healthy eating again so had a bit of a headache after 2 weeks of carbs!

Tuesday – the bus didn’t turn up, but noone rang parents to let them know til 1 ¼ hours after it should have arrived at the stop, and after school had already started – sigh. So I had 20 minutes to pick him up, take him to school and get back in time for my INR appointment. Luckily the roads had been gritted so were safe enough. I got to my appointment only 2 minutes late, and she said she’d have fitted me in anyway. Given it only takes 2 minutes, I was relieved.

Started line dancing classes for the first time properly. I’ve only ever done a couple of classes 25+ years ago with my mum when I’d tag along in my uni holidays. But I’m hoping it’ll help me get moving more, get a bit fitter, and back to other dancing as well.  Thankfully my trainers were fine for the slippy floor. It was great fun, although obviously pretty basic as a beginners class.  It was so busy. I chatted to a couple of people who were also new, so could be a nice social thing too.

Wednesday – busy day working. First football training back for them, and it was bleep test session for them.  Most dropped off after nearly 3 weeks of no football, or probably much other exercise. But it was good for them to be back together again playing.

Thursday – Not much other than work. I’m fuming about a couple of things at home, things that haven’t been discussed before happening. I don’t like the lying by omission (now I know what my mum meant back when I was a teen).

Friday – short work day, that ended up not that short. So cold, the ground didn’t really defrost before it was getting dark again.

Saturday – much brighter day once the sun came out, it was actually quite warm. And my ice scraping was easier today because I think the remains of my de-icing spray that’s meant to stop windscreen’s freezing did actually help a bit. I love my Swedish ice scraper though, it’s definitely the best one I’ve had.  Frozen ground meant that the football match was cancelled so I did my shopping in town, then had time to read, prep tea in the aga for all afternoon, and watch a few fieldfares who’d come to visit our field behind.

New post this week:

Things I’ve enjoyed this week:

  • The Traitors
  • Being in the office
  • This week felt really fast, it didn’t drag at all

Things I’m grateful for this week:

  • No snow, and the roads were well gritted
  • Managed to get school drop off and back just about in time for my appointment despite the limited time available.
  • Finding a new recipe to try, we’ll see how it goes down later this evening!

  1. Gosh my weeks have been dragging. Glad N is back at the football, shame the ground was frozen on one occasion though. Good you’ve had a slow start and are able to get your reading and puzzles done. Shame about the buses, they’ve altered the collection location here without consultation and it’s caused upset at the end of the day. Shame about changes at home without you being involved in discussions, sounds very frustrating. Hope the line dancing ‘steps’ up.

  2. The field looks pretty with the snow. Good luck with getting back on track with the healthy eating. That’s frustrating that no-one let the parents know about the bus not turning up. Glad you managed to get N to school and get your INR appointment in. Line dancing classes sound like fun. #project365

  3. It’s been a cold week, though I’m still waiting for the “proper” snow. Love the image of the frosty field, you can almost feel the chill in the air.
Line dancing sounds great fun! And I know what you mean by lying by omission, my DH is well-rehearsed in that skill.
The school bus not arriving is pretty bad form, what if you couldn’t take your son to school?
