Project 52 2026 week 10
It’s been a tough week, but thankfully with lighter moment of family laughs, catching up with friends and plenty of dancing thrown in. Here’s what’s been going on in week 10 of Project 52.
Sunday – needed to nip into town for a couple of bits I’d forget yesterday. A day of lots of washing. Anyone else got a teen who doesn’t understand that a whole weeks worth of clothes won’t fit in one washload of darks/colours. So they should be putting dirty stuff in the wash basket daily so they know when there’s enough to be washed, instead of me having to do everything all in one day, washing and drying! My brother took a few knives off to sharpen and just brought them back in time for roast dinner.
Monday – just work and school. It was foggy for most of the day. We turned our aga off today. Oil’s doubled in price thanks to Iran/US/Israel’s attacks, so fingers crossed with get plenty of dry warm weather to be able to put drying clothes outside and avoid needing to put the heating on too much. And I need to remember to be turning the oven on well ahead of needing to use it, as I always forget when I’m back using it every day rather than the aga.
Tuesday – just work and school. Evening at dancing with hot and sweaty. Quite a few fast dances with not much time inbetween. You’d think I’d be getting fitter with all the dancing, but I’m not sure my stamina’s really improving at all!
Wednesday – tough day at work. INR appointment was brief, and all within range still. It’s nice to have 8-9 weeks inbetween appointments, I just need to remember to phone and book an appointment as the appointments aren’t set up that far out. I had a rare Wednesday evening at home because I can’t cope with 4 evenings of dancing.
Thursday – day off work. Nipped into town to pick up a couple of bits for N. Then headed off to meet up with a friend in a little independent coffee house cafe in a village in the middle of us. Apart from randomly bumping into her in town a couple of times, we reckoned we’d not seen each other since before Covid. So it was lovely to catch up on everything. Our boys are the same age, so it’s interesting to compare what they’re both up to as farmer’s sons.
Went out dancing in the evening – good couple of classes.
Friday – was meant to have a half day of leave in the afternoon, but so much to do, with meetings and everything else, I didn’t finish work til nearly 2 (my normal day is 2.45 finish on Fridays). Ooops. There aren’t any more Fridays available to take off in March before the year end, so I’m a bit screwed there.
Great evening dancing at a line dancing social though, although I do wish they’d put the air con on. The journey home we detoured all around back roads due to a main road being closed, so it was a late night getting home.
Saturday – I planned to get out early to town but was later than anticipated after waking early but getting too much into my current book. Just went to Sainsbury’s, got cash out (my line dancing classes only take cash), petrol, and then off to a village near us to the bakery. Got various wash loads done, but otherwise the day just whizzed by. Had an issue with my dance blog, and thankfully the fix steps given by my host’s chatbot worked.

New posts this week:
Things I’ve enjoyed this week:
- Great line dancing social and getting to know one of the new dancers better
- Yes, MAFS Australia is back on tv
- Flowers – I bought plenty for myself ahead of mother’s day!
- Enjoying watching the ‘Mom/Dad what were you like in the 90s’ trend on socials. Loving seeing all the celebs we used to gawp over in teen magazines back then.
Things I’m grateful for this week:
- Fabulous work colleagues
- Sunny weather (although it has been quite cold)
- Long battery life lasting out on my Kindle
- Catching up with a friend after so long

Sorry you’ve had a tough week and hope this week has been a better one. I can relate to the laundry battle – mostly trying to get people to understand that if the clothes don’t make it into the laundry basket, they don’t get washed! Beautiful photo of the tulips and daffodils in the sunshine. #project365
Sorry to hear that you’ve had a difficult time, I hope it will get better. I saw that the oil prices went up due to the Middle East. I am waiting for everything to go up in the near future.
The tulips are beautiful.
What a beautiful patch of tulips and daffodils, so colourful and vibrant! Sorry you had a tough week.
My three still haven’t figured out about the washing either.
How lovely to catch up with your old friend.
I’ve been watching the 1990s reels too, some are very nostalgic for me, as it’s really my youth. Nobody asked me though, lol.
We are a household of six. I try to get everyone to do their own washing, but to no avail, my washing basket is always full to the top (and it’s massive) Then my eldest two will pop down at least once a week with their own washing baskets. I honestly need two washing machines! How nice bumping into your friend after so long and having a good catch up. I sometimes buy myself flowers or chocolates for Mother’s day but I didn’t bother this year. My eldest tried so hard to make it a lovely day for me. It’s times like this I see myself in him, I always prefer to make other’s happy.
Sorry you have had a tough week. I hope the weekend has been better for you.
Yep! I have two of those who don’t understand how the washing works. lol It’s so frustrating!
How lovely to catch up with your friend and it sounds like you fitted in a lot of dancing.
What pretty flowers!
Sorry to hear that this week has been a tough one. It sounds like you have had some nice moments, too.
I’ve also been enjoying those 90s trend videos, some of the actors and pop stars I had forgotten about.
I hope you are having a nice Mother’s Day.
