Living Arrows 2017 week 47- cheeky tricking

Enjoying outdoors

This week’s living arrows shot was taken at the Black Country Living Museum which we visited last week.  N had got a bit bored and was trying to block me from going into another building. This time the church. We had a bit of fun with me trying to get past, which of course I eventually did. Nice shots of him are now few and far between, so when I get photos with the right light and a great smile,… Continue Reading “Living Arrows 2017 week 47- cheeky tricking”

Living Arrows 2017 week 46

Living Arrows 2017 week 46 happy boy.

This week’s Living Arrows shot was taken in front of our very messy backroom.  It’s full of N’s rubbish, one complete and one half finished jigsaw, the sun faded piano and the tent which also doesn’t have anywhere to go. I can’t even remember what we were discussing, but N had just turned round and was showing me something. He looked pretty happy about it. Does anyone else’s child insist on wearing their polo shirts fully buttoned up? It really… Continue Reading “Living Arrows 2017 week 46”

Living Arrows 2017 week 45 – gamekeeper

Living Arrows 2017 week 45 - ready for shoot day

Shoot season has started. N loves spending time being a gamekeeper – he goes out with his dad on the quad bike at the weekends to feed the pheasants.  And then when there’s a shoot, he goes after swimming to join the others and do some beating. His shooting jacket was a handmedown from his cousin last year. I reckon he’s got this year and next to wear it unless he has a huge growth spurt. This year they had… Continue Reading “Living Arrows 2017 week 45 – gamekeeper”

Living Arrows 2017 week 44 – portrait

Living Arrows 2017 week 44 smiling pose outside Coughton Court

I always say that N doesn’t like having his photo taken, but sometimes, given the right ask, I’ll get lovely posed portrait shots like this.  Even the shots just before, getting into this worked out well. It was taken while we were at Coughton Court just before we were allowed in for our timed slot to the house.  Earlier in the day he’d taken over my camera in the gardens and taken a few nice pictures himself. But I was… Continue Reading “Living Arrows 2017 week 44 – portrait”

Living Arrows 2017 week 43 – on the swings

Living Arrows 2017 week 43 - swings

This might not be the most focused shot, but I love it for this week’s Living Arrows. This was taken at Millets Farm where we went to pick pumpkins.  N loves swings, they must be his favourite playground equipment at the moment. And surprisingly he actually let me take a photo and even smiled. It looks like he’s got 2 gaps in his teeth but all 8 of his milk teeth have been replaced by his adult teeth. They’ve just… Continue Reading “Living Arrows 2017 week 43 – on the swings”

Living Arrows 2017 week 42 – decisive cuts

chunk out of his hair

Notice something wrong? It seems N decided to cut his hair because it was too long.  He really didn’t want to tell me what had happened so I knew he must have cut it himself.  Eventually he told me.  I nearly laughed. He was relieved when I said most children have done it before (I omitted that it’s usually younger children though.  What’s annoying is that it’s school photo time in 2 weeks and while his hair will have grown,… Continue Reading “Living Arrows 2017 week 42 – decisive cuts”

Living arrows 2017 week 40 – hama beads

Living Arrows 2017 weel 4-

Hama beads. The craft toy that spans ages and both boys and girls.  And a great little photo of N for this week’s living arrows. N isn’t really that keen on arts and crafts, but turn up with some new hama beads like I did last week from Blog On’s goody bag, and he’s in heaven.  This is the design he decided on – made quicker by him telling me to help him and what I needed to put where.… Continue Reading “Living arrows 2017 week 40 – hama beads”

Living Arrows 2017 week 38 – focused play

Living Arrows 2017 week 38 - looking down

We’re rapidly nearing the end of 2017 already. Week 38 of Living Arrows, and into autumn meaning less outdoor time and more indoor photography. I’ve not taken many photos at all this week, and an even lower proportion of photos of N. Now he’s back at school and me at work, then evenings he quite often goes over to the farm or out with his dad, it means there’s not many chances to take them. When out and about generally… Continue Reading “Living Arrows 2017 week 38 – focused play”
