Toddler training and toddler chores ideas
It’s great having a toddler…if you train them well, you can have your own little servant. They can even start having their own responsibilities. Toddler chores.
We’ve not got quite that far but N does have a touch of it about him and it would be great to develop him some chores to take on.
He likes being given instructions especially if he thinks he’s doing things that mum or dad does. So clearing the dishwasher is a favourite (although a bit risky for the crockery and glasses), along with putting his books away in his book box.
Today he was enjoying removing armfuls of clothes from his wash basket and throwing them on the floor. Then of his own accord, scooping them up (as many in one go as possible) and putting them back in. Great fun and if I can train him to keep putting his dirty washing away, it’ll be a result as his dad still doesn’t bother!
Ideas for toddler chores
- Taking items upstairs
- Helping tidy up
- Learning to set the table
- Loading the washing machine
- Putting recycling in the bin
Wonder what I can train him in next? What chores does your toddler do?
What is it with Dad’s a not putting their own dirty washing away!!
Yes! I love little helpers, too. I’m working on training EB to give me a massage, but we’re not even close yet.
