Brightening and lighting a boys room with Blaze On lights
N doesn’t really have a decorated bedroom, but I’ve always quite liked the idea of fairy lights for N’s room. So when we were offered the chance to choose a set of Blaze On lights I jumped at the chance.
Blaze On sell a wide variety of fairy lights – ranging from wicker hearts to flowers to handmade paper cars, and moons and stars sets. There’s something for everyone, in every possible colour.
We chose the blue tone ambient balls – I love blue and N’s room (when we decorate) is likely to have tones of blue, so I thought these would look great. The balls were probably the most versatile for us, especially as when they arrived, I quite fancied stealing them for myself in due time.
All of the Blaze On lights are ethically made, and come in recyclable packaging. Like so many independent business, they arrived beautifully packaged in orange tissue paper.
We loved the blue of these lights. Perfect for anywhere in the house, but also if you’re having a party. The silver cable sets them off nicely too. The ambient balls are woven cotton, made in Chiang Mai Thailand. They’re really simple, but the effect is lovely whether the lights are on or not.
As soon as the box was open N was in and wanting to look at them. I had to stop him from turning the plug switch on and off, but he’s obviously bewitched by them.
His room at the moment is pretty boring and plain, but the Blaze On lights do look a bit like the planets on his bed cover and the colour goes perfectly (excuse the messy room, his version of making his bed isn’t the best and he seems to have swapped pillows round for the right one that goes!)
I love the soft lighting that comes from the warm LED bulbs. They’re great for N to be able to fall asleep to as they don’t light up the whole room, but mimic the traditional fairy light glow. And with a 2 metre lead it means they can reach further from the plug.
Amazingly, Blaze On lights give up to 100,000 hours, or ten years of light. That’s a lot of light for your money!
My only problem is finding somewhere suitable to actually hang them on a permanent basis as our windows upstairs don’t really allow for nice curtain poles. I’m also eyeing up the green daisy LED lights as they’d go with the bed linen in our room.
So pretty and perfect for an evening garden party in the summer, a conservatory, or just in other rooms in your house.
If you’d like to find out more about Blaze On, they’re on Facebook, or head over to their website where they explain about their ethics and artisan suppliers as well as the lights themselves. There’s currently* £2 off a £10 spend with voucher code FAIRY.
Disclosure: I was sent lights of my choice for the purpose of review. All opinions and words are my own. * as of 13th October 2014
These are lovely, just perfect for a boys room too #triedtested
These are lovely, they look so different to other fairy lights and perfect for a boys room!
Awww these are cool. We saw them when on Honeymoon to Thailand (inc Chiang Mai) in so many colours and regretted not getting any when we were there. We were pregnay 8-11 weeks so didn’t know what colours we would have needed. So glad I can get them now, although it does stop the need to go back to Thailand lol

Lol. Wow, must have been nice to see them where they’d come from. You’ll have more flexibility in choice now, rather than being limited to neutral (although many are quite neutral colours). Thanks for stopping by
Oh these are lovely. I love fairy lights and used to have some over our bed. They got broken though so I really need some more.. I’ll go and look at the website now 🙂
Do, they’re definitely worth checking out if you’re in need of replacements.
What gorgeous lights.
Thanks for linking up with #TriedTested x
These fairy lights really do brighten up a room don’t they? My daughter would love a set, especially as I’m doing her room at the moment 🙂
There’s some great choices for girls – whether they want really girly, or more funky cartoon like.
I bet it looks super cool at night!
these look great and I love soft lights in my sons room, as he cant complain its too dark!
Austin’s been asking me for lights for his room for ages now! I’m going to check these out – they’d go really well with his blue walls. Some gorgeous pics in this post.
Thanks Nell. They are lovely lights. When I looked a while ago they had some great car ones, but they look like they’re unavailable now. But the balls are more versatile.
They are gorgeous!! I keep meaning to buy something like that for my girls x

I know. I love so many of them, it’s really hard to choose. Definitely perfect for little girls rooms
We have some similar ‘ball’ lights – they work really well bundled up inside a glass vase! Thanks for linking up with #TriedTested
Ooh yes. I like that type of decoration. I tend to do it with baubles and battery lights at Christmas
These look so cool! I love different kinds of fairy lights, off to have a look at the website now x
Me too. I think they’re so pretty and a bit more individual. You can never have too many fairy lights – my OH wouldn’t agree!
