Getting out in the fresh air

The past few weeks haven’t created many opportunities to get out and about.

Usually we spend a bit of time around the farm and then go out to explore places at the weekend, but with lots of visiting my mum, there is just no time to do much more than a quick ride of the bike down the drive to the yard and the bins.  Thankfully N quite enjoys this as long as there’s a couple of trips back up to the house to collect more rubbish and recycling.

Luckily with him being at nursery during the week, he does get the chance to go out for at least 2 walks a day, and if it’s not raining they get out to play in the playground as well.  But that doesn’t give me much to write about and link up to Country Kids.

But today visiting my mum, we arrived to find she was being prepared to go for a wheel around the gardens at the hospice.  She’s already got the nurses to take her out to ‘kick’ leaves, so was keen to get outside again.  N was pleased to see her in her ‘buggy’ (wheelchair), so we had chance to get outside and for him to have a good wander.

The gardens at the hospice are lovely, all tended by volunteers, with lots of paths to explore.

Some fairly strange sculptures

A couple of ponds and water features.

What’s that mummy?

All great for N to explore and to push Grandma round.  Hopefully there’ll be a few more opportunities for getting out in the fresh air soon.

  1. I do like the sculptures – they are so original. The grounds are ideal for N to have fun in while you visit your Mum, I’m sure she loves watching him round around and explore. Thanks for linking up and sharing with Country Kids.

    1. Yay, we managed to join in at the last minute!
She does love to get out and loves having N around, plus all the staff and other patients/visitors think he’s wonderful which makes her (and me) really proud!
