Project 52 2025 week 33
It’s been a week with lots of dancing, and ending with a surprise different type of holiday. Here’s my week 33 of Project 52.
Sunday – chilled out day at home, didn’t do much apart from a bit of line dancing practice and reading.
Monday – work as normal. Organised my car MOT (turns out I didn’t need a new cambelt/chain thing, so that’s good, and my MOT was actually due 2 months after I thought it was), and for the electricity lot to come out and change over our meter. It was a complicated call because there’s more than 1 meter on the farm. I think he was despairing at it because I knew nothing about the set up.
Tuesday – office day. Had to drop off the OH’s suit at the dry cleaners. It was lucky I did it that day because they could just squeeze me in for the last day before they closed for 2 weeks!
Dancing was a hot one but a good class. Randomly the teacher decided to go over an old dance they’d learnt ages ago…and it was one I’d decided to learn from online at the weekend. Result! The dance weekender hotel also decided the dance teacher could offer more single occupancy rooms for the dance event, but 2 weeks too late for me as I’d already booked and paid for a different workshop elsewhere. Maybe next year.
Wednesday – football team is no longer part of our life. I took N down to training to hand in his kit, and say thanks and goodbye to the coaches. It’s a shame a few go to different schools that he’s good friends with, but hopefully he’ll still see them around and talk online. N announced the OH was debating going on holidays for a few days which is pretty much unheard of. I can’t take short notice leave due to others being on leave/having planned mine through the year. Plus had a long booked hair appointment in the middle of Saturday. I didn’t think anything would actually get booked.
Thursday – back in the office again. It’s lovely to be in the air conditioning, although others say it can be a bit cold. We were quite chatty in our area. Nice to get back to that, but it did make it feel more like a Friday. I went straight from the office/petrol station stop off to dancing. Again, so so hot, but I did get to dance near the fan so it could have been worse. I arrived home to see they’d actually booked a few days away in Devon, what looked like a really nice hotel with pool, and for a good price. I’m very jealous as it feels a long time since we’ve had a break, but it wouldn’t be worth just going for a day.
Friday – phew, new washing machine arrived today. Can’t believe I could get it delivered next day (although chose 2 days after so I was at home). The delivery guy said that work’s been really quiet since January, they’re often only doing 3 deliveries a day. Hopefully people still continue to shop local because they’re a great shop we’ve been going to for years. I don’t want it to close.
While they packed to go on holiday, I went to my first line dancing social. I carshared with a girl who lives near me, and it was lovely to get to know each other better. Our Thursday class all sat together, it was a lovely air conditioned (although still a bit warm for me) venue with a proper dance floor. The bar wasn’t too expensive. We could put in song requests so made sure my favourite dances were on the list. I’ve got a list of about 12 dances I didn’t know so they’re on my to-learn list. I’ve realised that none of my smarter ‘dancing’ tops fit, so I’m going to have to look for a few more (or lose some weight which I need to do really) before the next one.
Saturday – after a lost bank card panic they left quite early. I headed into town to return an M&S purchase. Oddly the refund turned up in my email as an egiftcard, but turned out it was because I’d paid with a work discount cashback voucher ecard. Oops, I’d forgotten about that. After hanging around for a bit, my hair appointment was running very late so I had to pay for a car parking extension on Ringo, and then loiter around without my Kindle that I’d left at home. Now to relax for the weekend (after doing all my washing that I’ve had piling up all week), eat meals I love, and take control of the tv remote in the evening. It is very strange having neither the OH or N here. There’s usually the OH here if N’s on residential.

No new posts this week. I’ve written 2 but just not got them up or photos edited.
Things I’ve enjoyed this week:
- My first line dance social
- Nice to get to know a couple of my newer line dance friends better
- Quick catch up with one of the football mums as we said goodbye to the team
Things I’m grateful for this week:
- Flexibility of having a teen now who can stay in and go out and help on the farm, so ability to go out in the evenings without having to plan around the OH being
- Ringo car parking extensions – my hair appointment start was very late.
- Early M&S visit meant I got some good yellow sticker deals.
The picture from line dancing is lovely. It sounds really nice and I see that you really enjoy the lessons.
How nice that you got the washing machine fast. Local shops are great, but they need a lot of people to keep using them.
That’s good news about your car and learning the dance that was in the class this week. What a result!
Oh wow! That does sound unusual for your OH to suggest a holiday. I hope him and N have a great time away and your enjoy your time at home. x
It feels very strange being at home without both of them.
