Project 52 2025 week 37
It’s been a busy line dancing week, as well as work, a bit of illness to top the week off (same day it seems each year of going back to school). And frustratingly, I’ve not been able to work out the issues with my blog. Argghhh.
Sunday – normal Sunday except I went to see Inter Alia at the cinema, one of the National Theatre plays. Rosamund Pike was excellent, and as a mum of a teenage boy, it’s so worrying to think how much you need to make sure they really understand consent, and how important it is to have both parents sending the same message. Definitely one to see if it’s coming to your local cinema.
Monday – back to school and work. Not a lot happening, but it was a long day. Work is so busy at the moment.
Tuesday – day in the office followed by dancing. Inbetween I picked up an order from M&S. I’d ordered some new loafers – I wanted a wide fit in the half size that I couldn’t find in store. But they delivered me (I have a feeling from instore, not elsewhere as they weren’t bagged) standard width. Thankfully they turned out to fit, they just need a little bit of give which they’ll do after a few wears.
Wednesday – had just sat down to breakfast when I had messages from N saying he’d forgotten his PE kit and could I bring it in. Sigh. Fast trek over to school, luckily early enough to avoid the carnage that is the traffic near school. Otherwise a busy work day.
Thursday – busy work day. Thankfully no other disasters or forgotten items, but N came home not feeling well. He didn’t bother with going to student services to get sent home, because he reckons only the girls get sympathy when ill, and the boys get sent back to class. I went out dancing – it was hot again but a good class.
Friday – N was off sick from school. His temperature was back down, but cough, headache and rough with a cold. He slept most of the morning. Thankfully the headache went. With him not doing tennis it meant I could go to the monthly line dance social. So a last minute arranging lift sharing with a couple of friends, and a nice 3 hours of dancing. I’m not sure why the air conditioning wasn’t on because I was hot from about 3 dances in, but even others who’re usually cold were saying they were hot. I always think, anywhere there’s dancing use the air-conditioning if there is some. Places and people get less sweaty, and people can add layers if they’re cold, hot people can’t strip further.
Saturday – after a very late night (I read way too late), I needed a couple of bits from town. Chatted to our neighbour, practiced a couple of new line dances. We decided on an easy chippy tea. I really couldn’t be bothered to cook.

New posts this week:
Things I’ve enjoyed this week:
- Lots of dancing
- Krispy kreme donuts left for me by nephew’s new wife as a thank you (I didn’t eat them all)
- Getting a couple of ‘praise’ feedback things at work. It’s nice to be appreciated
Things I’m grateful for this week:
- Mixed up shoe order in fact fitted me so no need to head back in to return or try and re-order so they send the correct size.
- An old enough child to look after himself between me leaving and OH getting back
It sounds like a busy week. Sorry that N was unwell. The line dancing sounds like a lot of fun.
It is good when the kids are old enough to look after themselves for a little while. x
