Project 52 2026 week 34
This week’s been lovely, nice and relaxing, exploring new places, dancing, a lot of reading and quite a bit of blitzing tv series. Here’s my Project 52 week 34.
Sunday – after nearly a week my bites are really irritating me and have come up red surrounding again. So I went to Boots to speak to a pharmacist, who recommended seeing the doctor. Sigh. Even antihistamine tablets didn’t seem to do much today. Didn’t do much else – watched some tv, did lots of washing, changed the bed linen. Realised that maybe the sleepiness on Tuesday from the tablets was because I’d taken one on Monday in the evening, then another before work the next day. Might have been a bit close together! Shows I don’t take many over the counter tablets.
Monday – first day of leave. Rang the doctor’s at 8.10 for an appointment about my bites, got my call back at 8.18, prescription ready for me at 9 when they opened. Impressive even for our surgery!
Early success meant I had time to go to Blenheim Palace for the morning. They had their Royal Connection exhibition of clothing, plus the Life through the Royal Lens photography exhibition on the Royal Family which was interesting. I spotted the 5 dinosaur sculptures in the grounds. Then headed home for a relaxing rest of the day, and trying to work out when taking my antibiotics would fit in around meals and snacks.
Tuesday – random visit to Kirby Hall near Northampton. The guy at reception seemed surprised I travelled 90 mins to visit there, but I thought the ruins were interesting. There wasn’t anywhere of interest on the way home again, but stopped in at a deli near home for picky bits for tea as it’s still really warm.
Dancing in the evening was ok but hot (again!). No new dances (to me) learnt, which gets a bit frustrating.
Wednesday – met up with an old school friend for the morning and lunch. Was lovely to catch up, although I’m always aware of how much I talk. Relaxing afternoon as I was the only one home.
Thursday – decided to head to Milton Keynes for a brief mooch around the shops (not that exciting but do have a Yours (all hideous browns for autumn) and Bravissimo which are helpful to be able to buy in store in my size where most shops you have to order online). Only managed to see a couple of the art trail Elmer elephants – there’s meant to be 7 in the centre. Then I went to the National Movie and Sci Fi Museum. I’m not big on sci fi, but there was still plenty to see that I’d seen or knew about that wasn’t sci fi based. You only get about 5 places you’re able to take photos, and my photo this week harks back to my childhood tv viewing.
Friday – not a great start to the day. Our fridge when too full, sometimes leaks a bit of water, and on the way to the utility room I managed to slip on a tiny bit. I managed to somehow bruise my knee at the front despite landing on my backside and it bending back. I’d been more worried about it being twisted, but nope, just bruised. So sat with some frozen strawberries on it, raised for a bit. It’s not swollen, just bruised and a bit sore, but had to still go into town for a couple of things. Might not be dancing next week unless it feels a lot better.
Saturday – more rain most of the day. My bruised knee isn’t painful unless I touch it so that’s good, and no pain when walking. Off to the bakery, then butchers, a fleeting trip to Waitrose, then home again for the rest of the day to hunker down with books, tv and photo editing.

New posts this week:
Things I’ve enjoyed this week:
- Nice new duvet set (although N laughed at it being yellow!)
- Couple of different style of books read.
- Just taking my time to relax and do what I wanted to do – that’s one advantage to having teenage children who have other interests to hanging around with you.
Things I’m grateful for this week:
- Prompt doctors, love having a village surgery (shame that doesn’t equate to the village dentist we’re at too – every appointment we book gets changed)
- A week off work
- Weather getting cooler and rain (finally)

Those bites sound nasty! I hope they are better now. It sounds like you have had a great week visiting different places. I love the sound of the National Movie and Sci Fi Museum. I am glad you knee is OK after your fall.
That was a speedy result from the doctors. I hope the antibiotics are helping with the bites.
It sounds like you had some lovely days out; the Movie & Sci-fi museum sounds like somewhere I would like to visit. Great photo of the Muppet band too!
Photo editing? What type of photography interests you? I am a retired professional photographer for family, high school seniors (old seniors too) and individual persons. Since placing the ‘big’ camera down, I have picked up phone photography. This has been a real fun time. I always enjoyed my camera and taking pictures. However, it was becoming work. Sad. It’s taken me a while to find it fun again. The project 365 has certainly helped me find the ‘fun’ again!
Thank you for hosting! I’ve shared #5. Off to visit the other guest links.
Have a fun week.
All the best.

I used to take a lot of photos and do a lot on Instagram when it was about photos, joining in the challenges and #. But since the algorithm changed way back and moved to mostly video I pretty much stopped a lot of my photography. I used to do a lot of flower photography (I even did a course), but mostly just whatever I saw on days out really. My editing now is just tidying up photos for the blog on days out. Bulk editing really, just basic stuff.
