In the mornings N, if he’s awake, usually comes into the bathroom with me while I shower – mainly for me to keep an eye on him, although sometimes he’ll wander off to chill out on one of the beds, or go downstairs to find something to play with. If he’s still asleep, I’ll just get him up afterwards, or the OH will go in to him if he comes in for a break before heading back out to work again.
The other day I had the surprise of my life though
I’d checked on N…still asleep. Went into the bathroom, pushed the door to, and turned the shower on.
Next thing, I heard the door bashed open behind me from N pushing his way in!
I’d not heard him making a noise, not heard him struggling to climb over the cotbed sides. He’d been really quiet.
Totally gave me a shock.
Needless to say, since then the cotbed sides still haven’t been removed. Looks like I’ll have to find a screwdriver myself as the OH’s not taken the hint each time I’ve told him that N’s climbed out and that the sides need removing.
At least once they come off, I’ll be more prepared for footsteps behind me!
Aww the cheeky monkey!! If he’s climbing out best remove the cot sides as soon as you can!!
That’s what I thought, but he’s pretty safe. OH needs to do it and he’s not keen although I’ve been hassling him, plus the stairgate opposite his door is broken. He’s currently screaming in bed, but hasn’t remembered that he could climb out if he wanted to.
