logstore built in front of house

Project 52 2024 week 45

This week definitely turned more autumnal with misty days, cooler temperatures, and starting to think properly about Christmas things. Here’s my week 45 for project 52.

Sunday – finally we got the logstore built (it was the OH’s birthday present with it having arrived in February) ready for winter. I put the slow cooker on for pulled pork, did some more washing, and put the slow cooker on for pulled pork.

Monday – N was off sick. His bad head from the weekend returned, and he spent most of the day in bed. I heard I’d won LTA ballot tickets for Wimbledon, so all at the ready for ticket sale opening. I also finally got round to asking in a farmer’s wives group I’m in if anyone could use some old shooting trousers that have been hanging around our house. We don’t know anyone small enough to fit into age 10 trousers, but at least now someone else’s child will get use of them (after they’ve been worn by at least 3 cousins, if not 4!).

Tuesday – thankfully N was well. Just coldy snuffles so back to school. Normal work day for me, and not much else happening.

Wednesday – yay, Wimbledon tickets all booked for my friend and I. Then after work and school, it was football training.

Thursday – I helped with the year 8 school disco for the PTSA. I met N’s geography teacher, and one of the PE ones. It’s always nice to put faces to teacher’s names. And we did good trade on the tuck shop. Roll on the next one in a couple of weeks.

Friday – orthodontist appointment for N, and they’re evidently the tightest so far. I think they’re now doing the final pull in of all the teeth to close the gaps, as she seemed pretty pleased. N will be happy to get rid of his front teeth gap he now has.

Saturday – a fairly early training session for football, then dropped N off at the farm before all my bits and pieces I needed to get in town. I was done earlier than expected, but it was a productive visit which is good. N was doing his project on my laptop, so I spent the afternoon watching Christmas movies, inbetween sorting out the roast.

Things I’ve enjoyed this week:

  • Shopping in town. It didn’t feel like so much of a chore as usual.
  • Watching new Christmas movies
  • Catching up with PTSA people and seeing the kids enjoy the disco

Things I’m grateful for this week:

  • N getting over his illness fast
  • Start of getting things organised present wise for Christmas
  • My brother building the logstore with N. I didn’t need to do it.
  • Getting Wimbledon tickets
