Project 52 2025 week 27
It’s been a back and forth week, some days with not much on. But others trying to get timings to work. Now it’s the weekend, its a chance to try and catch up on some sleep, especially now the weather’s cooled down slightly. Here’s my Project 52 week 27.
Sunday – nipped to the farm shop, otherwise didn’t get up to much.
Monday – just another work and school day. Hallelujah to N being back at school. He was pleased to still be in PE kit
Tuesday – I worked in the office, but otherwise a quiet day. Just about had time to get home before heading out to dance class. Had to get some bits from Tesco, so had to walk around the shop bright red and sweaty afterwards.
Wednesday – after work it was a rush. Off to sell refreshments for the PTSA on the Year 6 transition parents evening. It wasn’t worth being there to sell but hopefully we’ll get a few parents interested to join. Then it was back to get N and head to the shop to buy food tech stuff.
Thursday – Wimbledon day. We had planned to get there early, but the tubes were a disaster, not stopping where they should, the district line was screwed, and we ended up trekking across several extra stations than we should have needed to. Instead of arriving just as it was opening, we didn’t get there til after 11 and a bit of a sweaty mess. We didn’t get chance to watch any of the opening doubles I’d wanted to see, but waited in the ridiculously long queue for the practice courts where you only got to see one row of courts. Then it was time to get some lunch then head to centre court.
We saw Djokovic wipe out Dan Evans, then McNally give a good fight against Swiatek, before watching most of Sinner’s match wiping out Vuric. We left at 8, thinking we’d get food near the tube, but we were in a huge crush to get out. Ended up herded in groups to the tube station. The tubes were as disastrous getting out again, so ended up home just before midnight. A good day, but just so long!
Friday – back working again. Fairly quiet. Tennis was cancelled which was a shame. We made pizza dough for the pizza oven but it was too windy to light it. I froze the dough, and we ended up going to the local takeaway pizza place instead.
Saturday – I was still exhausted from Thursday, and the heat meaning I’ve not been sleeping that well according to my Fitbit. Took N and his cousin to the pool for a swim. But otherwise a fairly relaxing day – trying to get through lots of washing.

Things I’ve enjoyed this week:
- Wimbledon – on tv and live
- Catching up with a friend on our trip to London
- Trying a new recipe I’d seen online – using up my leftover roast chicken in an orzo risotto style meal
Things I’m grateful for this week:
- slightly cooler weather at the weekend.
- Everyone eating my new recipe try out and went back for seconds (after originally turning noses up).
- Lemon and whole cloves slowing down the amount of flies buzzing around the house.
I’ve never been to Wimbledon, I’ve heard it can be chaotic travelling around to get in and out. Glad you enjoyed the day though.
Getting to Wimbledon sounds like a nightmare, but it’s good that you got to experience some of it.
These up-and-down temperatures don’t make for a good night’s sleep.
Glad that you enjoyed your day at Wimbledon in spite of the tube being a bit of a nightmare. Hope you’re managing to sleep better this week with it being a bit cooler again. Glad the new recipe went down well with everyone. #project365
That is good that N is back at school. I hope he’s all better now.
What a shame you didn’t get to Wimbledon when you wanted to. I am glad you go to watch some of the tennis.
That is great news that you found a new recipe and your family liked it! x
I always feel like Jamie Oliver when I cook something new and the family enjoy it.
