Project 52 2025 week 31
Second week of the school holidays, and it’s rushing by so fast. Not a very exciting week really. But here’s what happened in week 31 of Project 52.
Sunday – both were out harvesting so the roast ended up being sandwiches for the OH, and early roast for N and myself. I had a quiet day.
Monday – our washing machine seems to be making a racket, not draining or spinning. Of course it’s when the OH’s clothes are in there. So we’ve had it out to check filters and hose. I’m sure it’s not that old.
Tuesday – office day although it was quite quiet. I picked up a Next order at lunchtime, which hopefully has in it some shoes that I’ll be able to wear for the wedding we’re going to, and shirt options and tie for N. After work I went to see Calamity Jane at the theatre in Milton Keynes. Carrie Hope Fletcher and the whole cast were brilliant. I loved it. Definitely recommend going if you can in your area. It was a late night back as there were road closures and diversions also with traffic lights – HS2 causing chaos.
Wednesday – training morning then busy afternoon. Hopefully the OH has fixed the washing machine – hot wash through it to see if that works. Couldn’t find any blockages though which is worrying.
Thursday – usual work stuff. Evening was back to line dancing again while N had a clay shooting lesson. Line dancing was good fun although they’re all getting exciting about a weekender in September. I only knew about it being a locally run small event last week, and now there’s no single spaces left. So I’m seriously feeling left out now. I don’t know anyone well enough to want to share (and I’m sure no-one wants to share with my snoring!). Maybe next year.
Friday – short work day as usual. Afterwards needed to check N hadn’t grown for the suit hire place. Thankfully not, although they don’t check height – legs or arm length – which surely is more likely to be growing than waist or neck. So fingers crossed the size we’ve ordered will be ok. The football team are starting training again this coming week but N doesn’t think he wants to go back this season. The coaches both sent lovely messages about his unique role he plays, but I don’t think he’ll budge. Such a shame.
Saturday – early morning rising for a hair appointment for N. He didn’t have much off because he’ll have a pre-wedding/school haircut in a few weeks too. He then went off swimming with his cousin while I went to return clothing orders in town. I tried a new 3 ingredient chocolate mousse cake with butternut squash. The mix tasted a bit vegetable, so we’ll see how it goes down with everyone else.

New posts this week:
Things I’ve enjoyed this week:
- a really good line dance class
- fabulous musical trip
- Pulling together ideas for dancing posts for my other blog. I still need to work out how I’m going to restructure it to include a line dancing section once I have a few more posts as the home page doesn’t really work any more.
Things I’m grateful for this week:
- Finding a shirt and tie that’s good for N for the wedding, and finding a pair of shoes that is going to work although need some wearing in because they’re really squeaky walking in them.
- Cooler weather – wasn’t so hot for dancing
- Plenty of time reading
Glad you enjoyed seeing Calamity Jane and that the washing machine got fixed. Shame about missing out on the single spaces with the line dancing weekender. Glad you managed to find a shirt and tie for N for the wedding. #project365
There’s been plenty of reading here also. Hope the harvest is going well, guess it throws meal times out. Does N help out?
It is so annoying to have to change something as big as the washing machine. Hopefully it will still work for some time.
I agree that checking the neck and waist dimensions is a bit strange when it comes to a child, as he grows, as you said, in height. If football is not his thing anymore, maybe he will find another sport he would like to play instead of football.
The summer holidays always seem to go by so quickly!
I hope your washing machine is behaving it’s self now.
I have heard good things about Calamity Jane at the theatre.
That’s a shame that N doesn’t want to go back to football this season. x
