Project 52 2025 week 34
It’s been quite a different week with a bit more going on, and some new things like festivals on my own, and new dance classes. A nice approaching end to the summer holidays. Plus there’s been a bit of a cool down for the weather which for me works nicely. Here’s my week 34 for Project 52.
Sunday – warm day again. I visited Sudeley Castle which was lovely to see all the gardens and find out more about the history. I then headed back to Banbury for some lunch, then get to Dunelm for a couple of bits, before going to see The Naked Gun at the cinema. I was surprised how quiet people were in the funny bits. It was a small screen, and probably only around 20ish people there, but even so, not many people laughed out loud. I then had to take some photos and videos of the dog to send N while he’s away.
Monday – as they were still away, I decided I would look out somewhere to go dancing. It was a bit longer drive than Google said (mainly because I ignored my satnav for the first part, then totally missed the hall vs where my satnav sent me), but went to a different class. It was beginners, but then spent the time rushing through about 25 dances to help people practice before a festival happening at the weekend. I knew about half of the dances thankfully, and the others she did run through a wall, so it wasn’t too bad. I didn’t think much to the teaching, or welcome compared to my normal classes. But it’s good to know it’s there if I’m looking for another class. It’s a shame she only does her improver class during the day time.
Tuesday – I was in the office then straight to dancing afterwards so only caught them back from holiday when I got home. Nice to have them back apart from all the washing, and the drinking glasses left again on the side in the kitchen.
Wednesday – in the office again. Driving in it was noticeable that some of the trees have leaves turning and on the ground.
Thursday – just work finishing off before having a few days off. Thursday dancing was good but much warmer than we anticipated.
Friday – had a day off work to go to Campfire Country Festival in Oxford. The run up to it was a bit hit and miss as the communication was non-existent, no responses on social media to lots of questions about parking, chairs, whether it was on etc. Lots of people saying it was a scam as a different location had been cancelled on the day with no info. Thankfully turned up and it was on. It was only a small day country festival with tribute bands – about 2-2.5k people. The weather was hotter than expected, and annoyingly I’d done the park and ride and walked down, but the parking at the park had plenty free when I arrived quite early. It turned out to be quite good – the music was generally good, queues for the bar were short (although food was long), and I bumped into an old Ceroc dancing friend there with her family.
Saturday – school shoe and trainer shopping for N. He wasn’t enthusiastic, but it was fairly fast compared to when he was small. He played tennis in the afternoon, and I tried to catch up on blogging and editing photos. I feel so behind as I’ve got at least 3 posts to write on here, and quite a few for my dance blog.

Things I’ve enjoyed this week:
- festival music and vibes, even going on my own.
- a day off work (this summer I’ve had the least time off compared with other years)
- a new dance class even though it was a bit odd.
Things I’m grateful for:
- a few days by myself to do what I wanted when I wanted to and cook when/what I wanted
- teen being able to (and wanting to) be out on the farm with his dad and others, so making it easier for me to head out where I want to if it’s not somewhere he wants to go.
- fast shoe shopping
The festival sounds good, great to hear there was plenty of parking even though you caught the park and ride, I hate festivals of any kind due to difficulties with parking, it puts me off going.
Sounds like a nice week with trying the new dance class and the day at the festival. Nice to have some time for yourself doing things you want to do as well. A fast shoe shopping trip is always good – ours still tend to take a while! #project365
It sounds like you had a great week. New things are good and you made the most of the N and your husband being away.
The festival sounds like a fun day. x
