Project 52 2026 week 22

Bit more of an exciting week this one, as a few different things. Plus ended the week with seeing Take That Circus concert. Here’s what went on in week 22 for Project 52.

Sunday – needed a lie in as I actually slept without being woken early by the heat, birds or various other reasons.  And after the panic on Saturday evening that I’d round 4 random pending transactions that weren’t mine on my bank account. I’d cancelled the card, and ordered another but did worry about being able to get money to N’s account for the week’s bus and to have enough cash for dancing this week. Luckily with mobile wallets, the new card is updated on there, so at least I can pay for stuff as normal. And I remembered I have my Hyperjar card although it’s got saved jars to go into savings accounts not for spending. But at least the transactions were cancelled and all seems ok now.

Super speedy nip to get bread for lunch – remembering I’d got a gift card to pay for it, rather than panicking about my card, then back home. Usual Sunday stuff like washing on, dishwasher on etc. Finished watching The Curfew, and read quite a bit.  Just quite a nice chilled out day before having to cook the roast.

Monday – work came around fast after the weekend. Just a normal work and school day.

Tuesday – normal working day again. Went dancing in the evening. Good to catch up with friends there, and I’m liking the dances we’re learning at the moment. Later night than I’d planned given the early start on Wednesday.

Wednesday – long long day for work. Early get up to catch the train to London. Earlier train means seats on both the train and usually the tube as well. Then had a bit of a wander by the river before going to the office for an all day meeting. Stayed for a quick drink afterwards, before getting the train back. Miraculously it seems that getting a train back that arrives after 6pm means there’s no issue getting out of the car park through the roadworks. Which is great, but that’s a 12 hour working day which was knackering. No dancing as I was back too late.

Thursday – flexi day off work so went to Coventry Charterhouse, a National Trust property. Finding it on my satnav proved a real issue but got there in the end. Lovely garden, but there’s not much to see at the property, so I was done in 45 minutes. It was a shame there wasn’t somewhere else to drop in on the way back. Instead, headed back to town for some lunch, then home.

Dancing was good in the evening.

Friday – short work day, tried to log off on time but didn’t manage that annoyingly. Evening N had tennis so read my book, and had a quick chat to the other mum. Their normal coach was on holiday, and the replacement one had them doing proper drills etc, rather than their normal relaxed do what they want style ‘lesson’.

Saturday – quick nip to town to get petrol, bakery stuff and then home to get ready for the Take That concert in Coventry. We had fun trying to get my satnav to find the road again (sigh, it really doesn’t like that city!), but had plenty of time to park, get some lunch from a burger stand, then enjoy a drink and chat before the stadium opened. It was my first stadium gig (rather than festivals and outdoor multi artist concerts), and I think I’m now hooked. Belinda Carlisle was good, The Script were excellent, and Take That were just brilliant. Loved the show, the music, the atmosphere. And luckily the car park we’d chosen wasn’t held to let all the pedestrians out, so I was home before midnight.

Things I’ve enjoyed this week:

  • My first proper concert – singing along to The Script and Take That
  • Catching up with a friend (and arranging our next day trip out)
  • Lots of reading

Things I’m grateful for this week:

  • The weather wasn’t as bad as it was forecast for Saturday. Phew (although we did have seated tickets mostly under cover)
  • Lucky timing on my London return trip to whizz out of the car park and out of town.
  • Time to relax, although now I need more sleep after some late nights!

  1. what a worry with the bank card, glad it was sorted quickly. I’ve seen Belinda Carlisle many times she opens for a lot of the 80’s bands I’ve been to see. I love the script also, not a big fan of Take That but I’ve seen Robbie many times.

  2. I’m glad the card issue is sorted out now. What a nuisance that must have been.
I saw clips of the concert from people who went on Instagram, and it looked really good. It sounds like you had a great time and a bonus with the good parking, too.

  3. I am glad you got your bank card sorted. What a worry!
It sounds like a long day on Wednesday but that was good you didn’t have issues with getting out of the car park.
Oh wow! It sounds like you had a great time seeing Take That. It sounds like 3 concerts in one with Belinda Carlisle and The Script!
