I think N’s getting into Christmas already even though he doesn’t know what it’s really about.
I bought a fabric advent calendar in the sales last year (was going to make one, but this was easier and probably cheaper!), and despite having all year to plan, it got to yesterday and I was frantically trying to think of (and find online) ideas for Christmassy tasks to put in the dates. Was going to get little stocking fillers but the pockets are really small so not much room for anything.
(Oops, also a problem as I’d eaten the chocolate coins I’d bought to put in them too!)
But as he doesn’t really know any different, I just got some more today, popped them all in, along with some stickers I’d got, plus baby Jesus from our nativity set for day 24. So he had day 1 after tea. Went down pretty well, and we’d done Christmas crafting & painting earlier in the day.
I also picked up in last year’s sales (thanks Lakeland!) a countdown to Christmas wooden Father Christmas with the numbers on blocks that you rotate. He’s been used to seeing pictures of Father Christmas and the Talking Santa app, so when he sees him anywhere, he says ‘Man…cistmas’. Hopefully by Christmas I’ll have got him knowing more about what Christmas is about and we can have someone else in the house who gets excited by it.
