Project 52 2024 week 41

It’s week 41, the highlights of the week being my birthday and the Northern Lights being visible again. It really is a spectacular view, and this time definitely visible without a camera needed. Here’s my week for Project 52.

Sunday – didn’t feel great with my cold. But had to go to the farm shop/butchers, and nipped into town for a couple of bits I then couldn’t get which was frustrating. £1.30 to park for an hour when all I needed was 10 mins to go to 1 shop. And I couldn’t park in the ultra short stay nearest the shop because it was canal day in town and everyone was obviously parking there because on a Sunday you can park in the market place for however long you want. Grr. Had a nice roast chicken for dinner though.

Monday – a bit of a brighter day weather wise. N went off to school with the end of his cold. I wasn’t feeling that much better. Mainlining Halls Soothers still, especially when having to talk a lot.  I decided I wasn’t going into the office on my birthday, so no cake baking needed.  Evidently the bus was empty on the way to school – obviously a lot of people hadn’t known that the bus was starting 15 minutes earlier to get everyone to the final town’s school and college on time. Because it was so empty, N’s lot arrived at school 50 minutes early, so ended up getting off in the village instead for a Co-op stop. This bus changeover is going to start costing someone a lot of money, and end up with rotten teeth thanks to the sweet purchasing.

Tuesday – my birthday. Thankfully feeling a lot better, my sinus’ weren’t feeling so bad, just the dry but tickly throat cough. Thankfully I wasn’t the only person in the team who didn’t make it in, but I missed the cake my line manager got. Everyone else enjoyed it though. My kitchen window is like a flower and plant shop now. I just hope I don’t kill the plants.  It was a miserable weather day though.

Wednesday – busy work day. Was still trying to multitask as we were trying to get out of the door for football training.  N moved his bedroom around again (not sure why, it’s never ending at the moment because he’s trying to suggest he gets a beanbag sofa for Christmas and that it would be worth it, plus has the room). He wanted some replacement LED lights so had found some in the Amazon Prime deals, then I bought myself as replacement slow cooker as the inner bowl of mine is a bit knackered now (and I didn’t get one for my birthday). I also spotted an amazing deal on a walking mat so decided to try that for getting my steps up (and I might even try working while walking like a colleague does).

Thursday – after dropping N at the bus stop, I went into town to pick up a couple of bits from Co-op. I totally forgot to post the letter I needed to drop off. Work as normal. Then had to work out my food order which always takes ages.

Friday – normal short working day. N got chosen for a badminton tournament next week. It’s quite amusing because he’s only played properly in PE last year (and in the garden before that), so I’m not sure what the criteria was for being picked. He’s dug out my badminton racket to use rather than a random cheapo garden one. I’m pleased someone different has been chosen. Most sports it’s always the same kids, and no-one else really gets a look in.

Saturday – had a load of things to sort out Saturday morning, but my main thing was to go and pick up my free birthday treats from shopping apps. It was a fail in a couple, but still getting 3 freebies was nice. Otherwise I was waiting for an Amazon delivery that needed a signature, and tried to sort out my ipod so I don’t lose everything on it when syncing, but also get more recent purchases on it. Scary risk to take.

No new posts this week.

Things I’ve enjoyed this week:

  • Birthday flowers
  • Getting back to some romance books for a break from crime and thriller novels.

Things I’m grateful for:

  • Freebie treats for my birthday
  • Getting rid of my cold – it’s been a long time, but today Saturday, is looking quite cough free.
  • Getting a new cable for my ipod means it charges.
