Project 52 2024 week 48
Another week goes by and it’s generally been a good one, seeing friends and getting out and about. And not forgetting to start thinking more about Christmas, although I wasn’t impressed with Radio 2 starting all their Christmas music before December.
Sunday – we had dripping from our leaking pipe around the smoke alarm downstairs, so water’s been turned off upstairs. Hopefully a plumber can come out soon and fix the pipes/shower. Storm Bert did its worst. We’ve never had our garden fence fall, but it’s definitely leaning. I decided to still go and see Wicked. After 3 hours our patio was flooded, and the roads in some places are flooded in and out of villages.
Wicked was amazing. I’ve never actually seen the musical, so now I really want to. But I can’t wait to see part 2 next year.
Monday – INR test for the first time in ages, and since I’ve been back on keto. Unsurprisingly it had dipped – it gets impacted by change in diet. So after a year of being every 8 weeks, I’m back to a weekly check til it gets back in range again.
Tuesday – just a normal work and school day.
Wednesday – nice office day. Busy rush getting home then straight back out for N to go to football training. We had fish and chips takeaway for tea, because noone else was cooking while we were out.
Thursday – busy work day. N had non-uniform day at school, then went into town with a friend after so they could go to Nandos. I was helping the PTSA with the Year 7 disco tuck shop which was quite good fun. The OH’s on a mad cleaning spree of the utility room again, so it’s all empty and neat. Next he’ll be onto the kitchen.
Friday – a flexi day. I’d organised to meet a friend for lunch in her town. I tidied and cleaned around the kitchen messy areas. So I headed there a bit early to check out their Aldi and Lidl, and managed to find the OH’s Christmas present after checking with N on whatsapp. I loved the Aldi self check outs, so fast compared to the long queues. I wish our town’s Aldi and Lidl had them (although I’ve not been to our Aldi for years so maybe it has them now). Met her in the town centre, and we had a lovely lunch and chat, but way too short. More time needed next time.
Saturday – dry morning for football thankfully. A trip elsewhere, to a really nice set up. The boys played really well with so many chances, but lost to 1 super unlucky goal that was undefendable, just popping over everyone into the goal. They really didn’t deserve to lose, but thankfully have kept their 3rd spot in the league but others have a goal in hand. Rest of the day was trying to sort out a few things in the larder in an attempt to start clearing out old stuff, a bit of reading, trying to sort out my laptop having automatically updated without my say so to Windows 11 that I’ve been avoiding so far. Hasn’t felt like a very relaxing day until much later in the evening.
Things I’ve enjoyed this week:
- Wicked!
- Helping with the disco. I do love getting involved on committee, chance to make new friends, and see the kids enjoying it.
- Finding some great bargains for Christmas and birthday gifts. Now just need to sort everything out to check I’m not missing anything
Things I’m grateful for:
- OH doing a blitz of the utility room and cleaning the aga. The blitzes are annoying at the time, but they do make it easier to keep things tidy (for a while).
- Being able to do Christmas shopping without worrying too much about it.
- Getting back to competition entries again, hopefully will have a win or 2 over the season.
Glad you enjoyed seeing Wicked. We’ve seen the stage show but not the film yet, but it sounds amazing. Hope your INR levels get back in range soon. That’s a shame about the lose at football but good that N’s team are still holding on to 3rd place. #project365
I really need to finsih my Christmas shopping just the hubby to buy for and a few bits for the kids in school. Storm Bert passed didn’t cause any problems with us, but did cause chaos on with flooding if we needed to leave the town in either direction. Yes, I was surprised with Radio 2s early music choices.
You’ve had a busy, but productive week. Such a pain with the floods and with climate change these will likely be more often.
You are so right about the Aldi self-checkouts, they are so fast, very efficient. I used the ones in M&S and it took me about 2 minutes even though I had only 3 items or so. It feels such a waste of time.
Sounds like you have had a busy week. We lost a fence panel with storm bert, but nothing too serious. Wicked is my fave musical ever!
One of our fence panels popped out of place during storm Bert. Thankfully it just slotted back into place.
I went to see Wicked this week too, I loved it and can’t wait for next year. I want to see the musical as well.
That’s a shame that your INR results weren’t good and you have to go back every week.
I have been avoiding moving onto Windows 11. I know it will have to happen one day but not yet. hehehe x
