Project 52 2025 week 26
Another week, more ailments, but looks like we’re out the other side now thankfully. More hot weather as well, so I’m praying it cools down quite a bit for our day out Wimbledon next week. Here’s our week 26 of Project 52.
Sunday – got the slow cooker on for pulled pork as we didn’t know what time we’d be back in to cook a roast. N couldn’t play in his club’s football tournament because of his back which was still painful. But I had to drop off a cake for the refreshments stall and we hung around to watch the first 3 matches. They were lucky that it was a bit cooler than the previous week, with a good breeze.
Monday – N was off school with his bad back and stomach. He saw the doctor, got some medication and was told to stay off til things were better.
Tuesday – another day off school. Back to line dancing and after not having danced for nearly 2 weeks and still having the remnants of my cough, it was tough going in the heat. But good to be back. I had another Too Good to Go bag this time from Starbucks. Better experience picking up, but the bag wasn’t that great for us. 2x vegetarian sausage baps, so they wouldn’t get eaten here. The rest was ok so did me for Wednesday lunch. But good value as 1 item is probably near the total cost of the bag.
Wednesday – I was in the office, N was still off school. At least he has got some homework done while he’s been off. The office has moved downstairs, so it was all new. The parking spaces we have are also different – there’s only about 4 which are realistic for most cars to get into, so that was interesting trying to work out which ones. Also, they’re fine if you’re in before other people, but if you’re trying to manouvre in tight spaces and around pillars as well as other cars, it’s going to be a nightmare. The office is back to being nice and buzzy again now it’s fuller for the space which is good.
Thursday – still off school but things were looking a bit better for N. Thankfully. Work as normal then dancing in the evening. Again very hot, but not as tiring as on Tuesday. We got through a lot of dances which is good, in both beginner and improver classes.
Friday – N had an inset day. I was working. Evidently Tesco couldn’t deliver any substitutions for the salad cream I’d ordered (I can’t believe there was none in store), so the ketchup had to go back as they were on 2 for a price, and I won’t buy them on full price. After work we headed to the suit hire place to get N’s suit hired for the August wedding we’re at. Because of his age we have to go back in to get him remeasured at the end of July in case he’s grown substantially.
Saturday – quick nip to the bakery and farm shop, then back home to stay in the relative cool. N’s football team had their end of season social at our nearby outdoor family bar. We had pizza from the street food stall there, and it was a really nice evening of chatting to various other parents. The boys enjoyed themselves too.

No new posts this week.
Things I’ve enjoyed this week:
- Watching Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. I’ve blitzed it in a few days.
- The run up to and planning for our Wimbledon day
- End of season football team social.
Things I’m grateful for:
- A mostly cool house…until the OH comes in and opens every window and door letting in all the heat.
- Getting N’s suit booked in for the wedding.
- Ice creams
shame N didn’t get to play football, but good he was well enough to join in with the end of year social.
I hope N feels even better now. Hopefully this week was much better for all of you.
Glad that N’s feeling better again now. It’s nice being back in the office when there are more people around even if the car parking does sound a bit tricky. Beautiful photo of the sunset. #project365
Have a fab time at Wimbledon.
Poor N. I hope he is on the mend now.
I love a Too Good to Go bag.
I was shaking my head at my substitutions this week with the shopping too. I got no white bread, they sent brown instead. I don’t believe they had no white bread.
I’ve shouted at my fella all weekend for opening doors and windows and letting the heat in. Grr! x
Sorry to hear you and N had another week of illness, it’s good that you are both on the mend now.
The too-good-to-go bags are so hot and miss, the supermarket ones seem to be the best. I’ve had a couple of good ones from Gregg’s.
Greggs are the wrong side of town for me, and we only have Morrisons doing Too Good to go bags. I’d quite like to try a Pizza Express one, but that’s a post 9pm collection whihch is a bit late.
