Project 52 2026 week 29
First week of the school holidays and they’ve whizzed by. The quietness at work reflects the holidays, the roads bizarrely don’t. Here’s what I’ve got up to for week 29 of Project 52.
Sunday – the housemartins have gone mad flying this week. Early mornings they’re out flying rather close to coming in my bedroom window, so I’ve had to close them up a little. It’s great to watch, but it’s hard to get decent photos thanks to my murky windows which need a clean.
Big family dinner for mother in law’s upcoming birthday. Only the niece missing so pretty good turnout considering several of them aren’t at home any more.
Monday – back to work, first proper day of the school holidays. N was straight out on the farm as they’re harvesting so he’s enjoying being on the tractor. Had a bit of a chat with the inlaws as I dropped off some flowers.
Tuesday – work in the office. Just a normal work day, hanging around afterwards for dancing. Of course it was super hot, but we’re approaching the end of a block, so hopefully we’ll be picking up some new dances faster next time round. I’m missing my Wednesdays where they whizz through the dances much faster so I build up my repertoire. But it’s just too hot to be in that hall dancing.
Wednesday – another day in the office. Quieter than I expected, but did get to catch up with a couple of different people. Got back and was pleased I didn’t need to make them tea because there was some at the farm for them when they got back late.
Thursday – the working week was dragging a lot this week. I booked in my extra 1.5 days off thanks to HR approving extra time back in lieu for earlier in the year, so have a long weekend to plan. After work, off to line dancing. Quieter class than the previous week, but a bit more space…didn’t help the heat though.
Friday – another quiet work day. N turned down going away for a short break, so I’ve booked a 3 night break for myself in Harrogate. Will be very strange being away on my own, and I’m gutted that there seems to be no line dancing classes or socials around that weekend to visit. But hopefully I’ll still have a nice time and leave them at home together.
Saturday – busy day back and forth. N wanted to go to TK Maxx for some new polo shirts, so early into town for the bakery market stall, then to M&S on behalf of the OH before TK Maxx opened. I forgot they have so few size Small for men, so he didn’t find anything. Back to Vinted (which I’m still waiting on something I bought on Tuesday to even be posted, when a second seller managed to send theirs and me receive it yesterday!). N had a hair appointment.
He then wanted to play tennis, but I can’t work out how to book for him as a member for free, and not include me as a non member on the booking. I’ve done it before but now can’t remember how, and every way keeps charging me £8. So they just headed down to the courts and hopefully they were empty and there were no issues.
I’ve finally worked out how to get the Commonwealth Games for cheap rather than TNT prices, so for a month it’s £5.99 via HBO Max, and I can watch everything I want to my heart’s delight. Although gutted there’s limited sports, in particular no squash.
