Listography: Top 5 Websites
Linking up with KateTakes5’s listography this week, and it’s on your most commonly used websites. I’m not really surprised about mine, as when I don’t have much time on the computer, there’s a few I always check.
- WordPress. Not sure that this would usually be my top one, although I’m getting used to the wordpress ‘my blogs’ so am transferring from blogspot & google reader (which is plain annoying) to this.
Ebay. Have been doing major clear outs of dvds, clothes and craft supplies so no wonder this is near the top of my list. Otherwise, I’m not sure it would be so high usually.
Facebook. Not really surprising. I have lots of online baby friends so we spend a lot of time chatting on there, and also have a new sideline starting soon, so am sorting that out through a facebook group, so of course it takes up a lot of my online time. My OH hates it, thinks it’s a waste of time, but I believe it has it’s purpose, especially when there’s just not enough time/possibilities to catch up with everyone in real life.
Blogger – as number one, although I’m gradually using this less and see this continuing. My craft blog’s on there, but now I’m back at work i just don’t have the time to make jewellery and update it, so I think for a while it’s going to be taking a back seat unfortunately.
Hotmail. I have hotmail as my ‘junk’ email, and get hundreds of emails a day (that’s not including tens of junk emails a day). All my newsletter sign ups, competition entries and such like go here. Saves clogging up my proper email address.
Others of mention are my normal internet mail, google and twitter which I’ve started using properly although not to the same extent as some people (Just wonder where they find the time!).
Thank you for sharing. I’ve learnt quite a lot from having a nosey around other peoples lists. Amazing how we can have such diverse backgrounds but it’s mainly the same 3 or 4 sites that bind us all together, one way or another.
Love your tag line btw!
I went cold turkey on Facebook this year – not really missed either to be honest. I have become addicted to blogs, blogging and Twitter tho!
I love facebook too! I really need to look into e-bay – for some reason i just haven’t got round to it – have so much stuff that I could do with selling!
Great list – very similar to mine 🙂
I may have misunderstood the prompt. I picked my five favourite websites, not necessarily the ones I use the most. Oh bugger…
Yup, WordPress and FB. Those are where I spend most of my free time, too!
Not content with just one blogging platform…you had to have two! a true addict!
Started with wordpress on my old unused blog, then tried blogger which I think works better for creative/fun blogs, plus I couldn’t get wordpress to work on my mobile at the time. Now back to wordpress – and think it’s been improved on some of the things I struggled with before but could do on blogger easily.
If you’ve got a smartphone the WordPress app is excellent. I use it all the time. And any sensible person has at least 1 backup-blog just in case the main host goes down 😉
Haha my husband HATES Facebook so much he de-ctivated his account shortly after he set it up. He felt people were ‘invading his personal cyber space’! We do quarterly clear outs of DVDs and clothes on EBay too. Isn’t it the greatest?! Great list, thanks for sharing! x
Men are funny. Mine reckons because I’ve got so many online friends (my baby/mum friends), I’m bound to get stalked and murdered one day!
