Project 52 2026 week 15

After a few shorter working weeks, this was the first one back to 5 days. Added to that a couple of early wake ups and it’s been a tiring week. Here’s what I’ve been up to for Project 52 week 15.

Sunday – lie in, then had to get some cash out so a fleeting visit into town. Otherwise a relaxing day. It’s very unusual for N to watch tv or films, but he came in in the afternoon and suggested we watch something together. He’d seen bits from The Rookie on tiktok so we started watching that which I didn’t mind as it’s been on my watchlist for ever! Half way through the first episde off he went to the farm, although we did get the second half watched too. At this rate of (possibly) one episode a week, it’s going to take forever to watch all the series!

Monday – back to work for a full week. Tough day for a lot of people I spoke to. Nothing much on other than work. N and I watched another episode of The Rookie.

Tuesday – work as normal, then off dancing in the evening. It was a good couple of classes. Hopefully the beginners who’ve moved up will stick with it, as they’re picking up the new improver dance well. At least we’re getting through the intermediate class dances faster so that’s good.

Wednesday – screwed up in the office. Booked a parking space find, but somehow managed to book my normal desk for Tuesday, so ended up sitting in it when the person who had booked it arrived. Oops. Luckily there were other seats so we had a bit of a laugh about it. I was so tired, and my knee was a little painful so decided not to go dancing. Spent much of the evening reading instead. Flukily went to order some clothes I’d had in my M&S basket for ages debating, and found I’d get £14 back from the new Sparks app rewards. Add to that using my work discount scheme, so it worked out well.

Thursday – busy work day. Went dancing in the evening, it wasn’t as busy, but we can get through the dances a bit faster because there were no new beginners, and those who were previously new, are picking things up faster and remembering them. We went over a dance we did last block of sessions in the improver class, which was good because I couldn’t remember all of it, and it’s a nice dance to keep doing. Did my Tesco shop once I got home while catching up on MaFS Australia – there’s some horrendously behaved people on there this time.

Friday – for once I didn’t have to worry about when my Tesco shop was arriving. It was well ahead of work start time (usually it’s a mad rush at the end of my slot). Work was a short day, and I finished dead on time. A long 5 day week after the previous short weeks in March and over Easter. N and I shared a takeaway pizza, the OH was working late so missed out and I cooked him something quick instead to reheat.

N’s first tennis lesson back after Easter, and it ended up being a private lesson. One of the 4 hasn’t booked back on, and the other 2 weren’t there. So it’s going to be a quiet term – and the last one he does before finishing ahead of Year 11.

Saturday – had a bit of a lie in reading before getting to the bakery. They open at 9ish, and when I arrived at 9.12, it was still closed and there was a big queue. So had to hang around for around 20 minutes before I was out and headed off into town to pick up my M&S order. Annoyingly my Fatface sales order said it was delayed (originally due Sunday), then when I got home I found it was in store for collection. So that means another trip to the same retail park tomorrow. Urgh.  More The Rookie with N, plus some blogging, washing and reading. A nice chilled out day.

Things I’ve enjoyed this week:

  • More The Rookie watching with N
  • Watching some line dancing blooper videos
  • Watching what the cows and calves get up to out in the field behind.
  • Nicer sunny weather is back again – no need for a coat some days.

Things I’m grateful for this week:

  • My knee and ankle pain seems to have eased. Not doing Wednesday dancing possibly helped.
  • That the PTSA school quiz seemed to go ok. I do think it’s going to have to fold as there’s just not the numbers who can make events or want to be on the committee available any more. I’ve not done any events this year, and others are struggling/want to stop after 3.5 years. Frustrating that out of over 1000 kids, there aren’t enough parents who can be bothered to do the occasional fundraising support.
  • Roads being reopen in time for me to need to drive down them.

  1. I really enjoyed watching The Rookie, you prompted me to check out the new series out to watch. That’s really annoying with the clothes order, mainly why I never do anything online. It has been nice to go out without worrying about wearing a coat.

    1. We’ve got a lot of series to catch up on as we’re only on series 2 now. It’s like me watching the Lincoln Lawyer, I’m on the final episode of series 4, but the next one’s due out soon. It’s hard to fit everything on the watchlist in, but good to know we’re making use of the subscription.

  2. It’s good that your knee and ankle are not hurting as much. You do a lot of dancing, which is great as a workout and for fun, but it must be a bit demanding on the ankles. I danced as a teenager and I remember that.
Nice that N. had private-by-accident tennis lessons.

  3. It does sound like a tiring week.
How lovely to watch some TV with N. My youngest loves The Rookie, I’ve not got around to watching it yet.
Oops to the mess up in the office, at least you had a laugh about it. x

  4. It sounds like you have had a fairly nice week getting back into the swing of things.
I had never heard of The Rookie. I just looked it up. I like shows like that, so I might give the first episode a watch.
    Lovely photo of your view.

    1. If you like fairly non violent US police dramas, it’s good. It’s got the guy in from Castle, and I loved that show when it was on.
