Project 52 2026 week 16
A frustrating week in some way. Nice weather which is always good. But frustrating internet, work, knee, shopping, food decisions. Sometimes it feels like it’s never ending and it would be nice to have an easier life. Here’s what’s been going on this week for week 16 of Project 52.
Sunday – my fast nip into town ended up slower than expected thanks to having to get some petrol for the quad bike. We get diesel delivered to the farm, but not petrol as it’s only the quad bike that uses it. I’d hoped to wait a few days to top up my car in the hope prices might have gone down, but after only a day open, of course the Strait of Hormus was shut again, so not much chance of prices dipping now.
Watched some of The Rookie, made a strawberry tart for dessert (OH moaned that it was mouldy strawberries so no pudding for him. They weren’t but he just moans about anything that he thinks is old). Got lots of washing done, and did some blogging. I’ve just choreographed a line dance to an Ella Langley track, so was sorting getting that written up and uploaded to a couple of websites. Fingers crossed it gets accepted.
Monday – just work, and school. Not much else going on, so making the most of a quiet evening. My line dance was published on 2 websites, so I’ve got my name up as a choreographer which is quite exciting. I also had a lovely comment on it.

Tuesday – another normal work day. TB testing for the cows so there was a bit of fuss as the cows/calves from the field we overlook were moved down to the yard for testing and back again. Fingers crossed for all negative results.
A friend and I went to a different line dance class in Warwick as our normal teacher’s on holiday. It was in a trades social club, so cheap drinks. Everyone was really friendly, the male teacher was fun (and knew every single person’s name!). It was packed out, but we learnt quite a lot of new dances we could pick up on a quick talk through of one wall. It gave me a good work out, and there were some cheeky 90s tunes in there. Good to know there’s an alternate class on Tues/Wed if usual classes aren’t on.
Wednesday – office day. It was pretty busy. I went straight to dancing afterwards. Luckily the direction I go in misses all the carnage of the traffic lights and roadworks going up or not working all over the place. It’s taking people ages to get into work or across town compared to normal, and alternative routes are getting closed off/having traffic light hold ups too.
Quiet in the first dance class, but learnt a couple of new dances. Then 2 more in the intermediate class. My knee was hurting a bit, so I’m wondering whether I need to see the doctor. But I think they’ll just say rest, exercises to strengthen the quads to support my knee (and probably lose weight which might help). There’s certain dances I love with moves in that my knee doesn’t like so I should avoid those at least!
Thursday – woke to no internet. Sent an email to ask about issues at 7.30 because their helpdesk doesn’t open til 8. Then they couldn’t connect my call at 8 due to technical issues. Eventually got through at 8.11, and got connected to a person at 8.35. Cutting it fine because I’d have to change plans and get to work. Evidently some planned maintenance (I’d not been informed like they usually do) they thought was all done by 6am, wasn’t. Ended up rushing into work, and hoping it’d be fixed for the afternoon so I could get home to work in readiness to pick up N.
A colleague’s husband works for my broadband company, so he checked the status as they’d not rung back. All sorted by 8.50 just after I’d left for work (although the text message I received said 12.20). But at least I could get back and work at home in the afternoon.
At school bus pick up time we had lambs out on the road, so I shuffled them back under the gate again. Then N did the same on the reverse journey, before getting home so he could find something to hang under the gate to stop them escaping again.
No dancing, so watched a couple of episodes of The Rookie with N.
Friday – short work day, quite quiet, but caught up with a few people. Enjoyed the sunshine after tea, watching the cows and calves. Tennis in the evening for N. I had a bit of a chat with one of the other mums and enjoyed sitting with the sun coming into the car, rather than huddled in a coat.
Saturday – planned to get up a bit earlier than normal so I could get to the various places needed before they were too busy. Oops, got caught up reading my book so wasn’t that early. After having queued for ages to wait for the bakery to open last week, I decided to go to town first to drop off a return and nip for a couple of bits from M&S.
Made the mistake of getting into the Starbucks drive through which took ages. Then they charged me for a medium frappe rather than the tall I asked for (I even clarified that it was a small one I wanted), so wasn’t happy about that. The staff member couldn’t have given a toss with her sorry while moving on to her next customer.

No new posts – I’ve been very slack lately!
Things I’ve enjoyed this week:
- being out in the sunshine watching the cows
- a new line dancing class
- pleased to see my line dance up online
Things I’m grateful for:
- friends who are available last minute to join me on new jaunts
- internet wasn’t off for long
- payday (although with another school trip to pay for, and balance to pay off on another, it’s not going to last for long)

Congratulations on being recognised as a choreographer, that must be an exhilarating experience!
Sorry to hear that the week was full of all kinds of issues. Losing Internet is no fun, we really depend on it so much.
Fingers crossed, for the TB tests.
What a lovely photo of a cow with a calf.
And I’d love a slice of a freshly made strawberry tart.
That sounds like a very frustrating week; some weeks just seem to be like that, don’t they?
It’s good that your internet wasn’t off for too long. I dread that happening, especially with working from home.
Ugh to your frustrating week!
Good job with choreographing a line dance. I hope all the TB tests are negative.
The new dance class sounds like a good one.
What a beautiful photo of the cow and calf.
