Project 52 2026 week 39

A bit more of a relaxing week than last week, but quite a bit of angst on various days. Here’s this week’s Project 52 week 39.

Sunday – had a lie in, before heading out to the farm shop, M&S for bread, and then TK Maxx for a mooch around and to buy a new fruit bowl. A successful shop for one, although my work discount gift card never works in there as it asks for a pin. Frustrating. Had a beef roast, but otherwise quite a relaxing day.

Monday – work was slow going, but a lot to get done. Trying to get through books to make use of free 3 month Kindle Unlimited offer to Prime members (you can get Prime here through my affiliate link if you don’t already and are debating it), especially the ones I’ve had on my to read list for ages but refused to pay the full price for.

Ordered a replacement pair of white dance trainers and she gave me a discount for being a return customer. Mine are totally wrecked but I’ll probably keep them for the one horrendous floor we dance on.

Tuesday – busy day outside of work. Nurse visit for the fun 3 yearly cervical screening test. Then straight after work it was back into school for a trip information meeting…which lasted 15 minutes. Good timing for me so I could get to dancing at the normal time.

Wednesday – frustrating as I was trying to get Saturday presale tickets for C2C in London next year. Every 2 I clicked on either left a single seat, or was already gone by the time I clicked on 2. I wish these sites would just ask how many seats, best available and book those. I needed to have a second presale email address so I could log in via a different device to hold the single seats. So I’ll need to try again when general sale arrives.

New dance shoes arrived promptly.

Thursday – N was off school with a bad headache and start of the cold (2 weeks later than normal for the start of the school year). School even rang me at lunch time to confirm he was off, not that I could tell them what he was like by then as I was in the office. Very odd.

After work I headed off dancing. That class is nice to see everyone, but not very challenging.  Then back home after to catch up on The Traitors. Oh so funny!

Friday – N off again with his headache. Hopefully his cold’s now coming out and he’s got the homework done he needed to.

Frantically trying to buy C2C tickets when they went on sale, only to find my blooming Tesco delivery driver got lost (despite me providing clear details in the instructions), so ended up here just as I got in on my phone. My Axs got me in then chucked me out, so my laptop I had N checking it, dumped all the food on the table, then managed to get into some tickets. Not for the Saturday which I really wanted unfortunately, but did get Friday tickets.

Short working day, no tennis as N wasn’t well enough.

Saturday – busy morning back to chores Saturday. To the butchers, bakery, supermarket and then to B&M to check out what new things they have in. All the Christmas aisles were in, but this year I don’t think I need to buy any more decorations for the tree. Unless I see some really nice ribbon or bows. Then a couple of washloads with a nice enough day to put the clothes horse outside. Then I got out the painting kit I bought a few weeks ago. I’m not arty at all, but it was nice and relaxing, and it’s paint by numbers so hopefully I can keep enough in the lines!

Things I’ve enjoyed this week:

  • Funny office chat
  • Celebrity Traitors…the joys of Richard E Grant, Miranda and James Blunt.
  • Getting back to reading after a weekend off.
  • Painting – it’s so relaxing, although my keeping inside the lines attempts needs better brushes. The thin ones they provide aren’t great as they’ve got random long bristles I’ve had to chop down.

Things I’m grateful for this week:

  • All the logistics for busy days working out
  • Getting tickets to C2C even if they weren’t the ones I wanted.
  • Free books with a Kindle Unlimited 3 months offer.

  1. I do love a mooch around TK Maxx!
That is good about the discount on the dance trainers but frustrating about trying to buy the tickets. The painting kit looks like a good one.

    1. Me too – although not for clothes! That’s just too traumatising, unless it’s mens, because looking for N means Small and there’s not too much choice there.
