Project 52 2026 week 23

It’s been a good dancing week, looking forward to next phases post GCSEs, and then a lot of rain and chilliness. I’m back working under my blanket! Here’s my week 23 for Project 52.

Sunday – After a late night, I then woke very early, so the day was hard going. Quick nip out to get a couple of bits from the shops, then read, watched tv (obsessed with Off Campus show on Prime along with all the social media obsession too!) and just tried to chill out. Didn’t manage to nap like I’d hoped. Tried to also get hold of some live streaming from a line dancing competition a friend had entered but struggled to see much of it.

Monday – dropped N at the bus stop, then straight back for an early meeting at 7.30. Won’t be doing that again because of course, I didn’t then take the full time to get breakfast and have a breather, or finish early to get the time back. Cleared all the junk out of the car ahead of its service.

Tuesday – in the office. Car was in for service and back ready for pick up nice and promptly with no issues. Yay! Dancing the evening which was a hot but good class. We had 4 random people turn up for the lessons which is unusual, but nice to see different people pop in.

Wednesday – just a work day. My new work laptop arrived safely which was a relief. Otherwise caught up on going over some videos of line dances I couldn’t remember ahead of Friday’s social, and did a bit of blogging. N made pancakes as they wanted something sweet in the afternoon.

Thursday – normal work day, not really much went on. Went dancing which started off cold so there were no fans, then got hot very quickly. Had leftovers afterwards as I was so hungry, and put in my Tesco order.

Friday – after dropping N off at the bus, needed petrol. Then rushed back for my food delivery to find there were delays of over an hour. Which then ended up being only 20 mins delay. Short working day, then while N went off to tennis, I headed dancing with a couple of friends. It was a really good night dancing.

Saturday – woken at just after 5am by 4 very noisy and strange sounding magpies. There’s so many of them around which is frustrating as they’re so noisy. Early start to go for a college open day. Can’t believe N only has a year left before he’s heading to college. We spoke to them about accommodation, as he would likely have to stay during the week, the potential course he wants to do, as well as a tour to see the agriculture areas. The other potential colleges won’t have open days til Sept/Oct, so it’s a bit of a wait to see any others.

Stopped for lunch on the way home (satnav playing silly again and sending us on a random detour on the way home, totally different to the usual route going, and then ending up with closed roads and even more of a diversion). Bit of The Rookie, listening to a podcast, then some blogging.

Decided on 2 photos this week. The first because it’s just cute – the dog checking out the overflow strawberries while we were checking the others that are just about to turn red. And the ladybird photo I’d not noticed there was also some kind of spider in the photo too until I was editing it. Evidently it’s a cucumber spider.

  1. Glad you had a good dancing week. Having an early meeting at 7.30am doesn’t sound like fun! Glad all went well with the car being serviced and there were no issues. Good luck to N with deciding on colleges – I can’t quite believe he only has one more year left but then I remember that Jessica would be turning 15 this year and would be starting GCSEs. It doesn’t seem so long ago we were blogging about life with small children! Love your photos this week. #project365

  2. Sounds like a very productive week. It’s a shame there is such a gap between the open days, otherwise it would have been easier to compare them, or at least this is how it was for me. I hope he finds the perfect college for him.
    Both pics are very cute.

  3. All the reading sounds good, I’ve hardly done any for ages. Glad the car service was done promptly for you. We have magpies who seem to live in our neighbours trees, they are regular visitors in our back garden, thankfully our bedroom is in the front so don’t hear them in the mornings, but I do enjoy seeing them in the day.

  4. There are a lot of young magpies about at the moment who seem much more vocal than the older ones.
I don’t blame you for using both photos; they are lovely. Good luck with the strawberries.

  5. I need to get around to watching that Off Campus show, I’ve heard good things about it.
Oh gosh! They grow up so fast, that is crazy N only has a year before he’s off to college!
Aww! That is a cute photo of the dog checking the strawberries.

    1. Ooh definitely. Off Campus has ruined me for other shows. I’m struggling to get into another romcom or series on my Watchlists. I want to read the books, but they’re so expensive, i’ll wait until there’s some in The Works or cheaper offers.
